Great dash cam

It's for Toyota RAV4 ....this camera in my 2021 easy to install....it's take me some times to pairing with my phone ,but following instructions in manual ,I sorted out all .... recommend it for this car 👍🏻

Great dashcam. Looks like it was built into the car from the factory. Can't connect to the phone if you're using Carplay as you can only have one WiFi connection at a time but it's easy enough to remove the memory card and view videos on your phone using the included C type adapter.

The FITCAMX dashcam has no built-in GPS or mapping function. This means that in the event of a traffic incident, the video produced will not contain details of direction of travel, road names, speed of the vehicle, or even the location of the event. This makes the device useless for supporting insurance claims or for providing the police with reliable information on traffic incidents or other road events.The lack of GPS and mapping in this dashcam was a big surprise to me as these features are mostly standard on other dashcams. When I complained about this, I received the reply that the website does not say the device has GPS, but GPS can be added if you request an upgrade at order time. Unfortunately, I could not find any mention of an upgrade option on the company’s website or on any other website that I could find on which they sell the device.The device is easy to fit and the video quality is usable, but that does not justify the price or make it useful. I could not recommend this dashcam for anything other than just producing a moving picture of your journey.

Bought direct from Fitcamx themselves, fitting is very easy but bear in mind if you are using a dongle to do away with a wire dangling so you can connect to android auto its a pain in the arse. You are unable to connect the fitcam and the dongle together. It's one or the other. After multiple emails back and fourth to Fitcamx the camera will work in the background but if you want to access the downloads you have to disconnect from the dongle then connect to the app. It is a pain, but it is filming in the background well enough, oh i had to play with the pic setting as it was very dark upon first use, but easy to do though the app.

Installed without too much hassle, bit of fiddling required to get the original cover off, and then to find the right place for the plugs to lie once you install the camera. App integrates well and all settings are straight forward. Overall has a robust feel, fits in perfectly and looks like original equipment. True 4K resolution on the camera, may update the review after some use.

Very discrete and easy to fit BUT video files do not overwrite when the SD card becomes full. First time I contacted support they said I should buy a good quality SD card, which they refunded immediately. However, this didn’t fix the issue. Have been going back and forth for two weeks trying to do a firmware upgrade but nothing they suggest works. Still waiting for latest instruction. Don’t have any of the problems others report like intermittent recording of poor quality image so 3 stars not 1
