Good protection and great looks. Crash tested, d’oh!
I get lots of comments on how these look. They really add to the appearance of the bike. And, after finding the icy patch on a ride a couple weekends ago, I can verify they’ll protect the bike from most damage at least in a low speed crash (I’m fine).Crashing ground a bit of metal off the guards on one side, but otherwise are undamaged. They probably paid for themselves already!Installation was a little tricky, but that’s par for the course. DON’T undo all the engine bolts at once. I have read that if the engine shifts with all the bolts out, it can be a real PIA for multiple people to get everything back in place. I fortunately had the intuition to do one side at a time, loose fitting things, which probably saved me some swearing. All told, these are a great addition to the bike and held up admirably in a low speed crash. I hope I will not get to update this review with a high-speed crash review!

Very good, maybe could be better.
Fits very well. Very strong only wish there were previous for accessories. Like bags and running lights.

Good Quality & A Good Value
Solid, relatively easy-to-install engine guard. I looked up alternate installation instructions online that were much simpler than the ones included from Givi. Some people mentioned vibrations from the engine guard at higher RPM's which I have not found to be the case. Overall, I can't think of any aspect that was less than expected.

Terrible quality control.
3 Missing bolts and both bars were scratched from factory.Instructions are really terrible.

Great protection and asthetics for the CB500x, works with RR skid plate
I read mixed information online about whether these crash bars work with the rally raid bash plate.I can confirm that it works. Yes they bolt into the same frame mount, you'll just need buy two M10x1.25x40(or 50) bolts with a 14mm head from a hardware store and you'll be able to fit a deep socket w/ an extension down the tube on mounting point of these crash bars. You won't be able to reuse the 17mm bolt that came with the rally raid bash plate as the diameter of a 17mm socket is too large to fit into the tube part. Largest socket size that fits is a 15mm.

Good quality and good protection
Good quality and good protection.Only 3 minor issues:1) It did require a little persuasion to install (I just used ratcheting straps around rear tire to hold is in line with the hole for the bolt to align without stripping).2) It came with some weird plastic sliders that were clearly designed for another bike, I think a Vstrom or versys maybe? I just didn't use them - didn't like the way they look anyway and the whole point of this is just to protect the actual bike anyway.3) The instructions are very unclear about which side is which, but it's pretty easy to figure out. When it come to left or right side bolts (different lengths), just measure them against the bolts you pull off the bike - the new ones should only be a few millimeters longer. All in all though, it's good quality and will definitely protect the bike. Doesn't appear to interfere with any periodic maintenance either.
