Magnets are strong, but not too stong. Base plate is a heavy sheet of steel, black powder coated. The base is solid, and it comes with 4 pcs. of 3M adhesive rubber feet to apply. The light has 3 easily selected color settings (white-ish, warm white-ish and blue-ish). The light brightness is easily dimmable in 10 increments from dim to full. The little in-line light controller is small but still easy to set. For the light, you'll need a USB plug or adapter to plug it into mains. The magnifying glass is the strongest I have on hand. No problem seeing very small items with great detail. The board holders ("pillars") are brass machined and set in some sort of resin so they arent likely to work loose, and mounted on strong magnets. The flexible arms are all metal and still flexible enough to position accurately. The alligator clip coverings aren't just pieces of plastic tubing, but are shrink wrap, so they won't slip off. The only improvement I could suggest is that the board pillars have a hard plastic V-groove cylinder, but a softer material would be preferable to aid in the grip on the edge of a board. Minor detail, and I give the product a solid thumbs up for the money. In fact, apart from the material choice for the pillars, they would be hard pressed to make it more fit for purpose without over-complicating it.

I am delighted with this, the magnets are extremely powerful and the base is heavy steel. The light and lense are good quality and also the crocodile clips are decent. The goose necks are very adjustable and stay just where you left them giving a very stable platform for soldering stuff. Highly recommended.

I'm writing this on day of arrival and can confirm its a solid robust piece of kit ready to use that will arrive with no instructions or guarantee or warranty/ contact details in simple brown non branded box. Haven't got a clue who manufactures it or any guidelines to dos and don'ts but understand it is self explanatory but cheaply packed. The only label reference under adjacent to the delivery label was made in Chinait doesn't come with a plug for the light simply relying on the fact most people seem to have a usb plug adaptor. The light aspect of the kit is very useful and it easily moulded to shape into the areas you wish to work while held VERY securely by the STRONG magnets both for the lights and the 4 arms also in the kitThe wife intends to use this for crafting items and very much impressed with how it will help but we are both of the opinion its not worth £51 and value it in the £20 to £30 bracket.

This is a must have for me, the magnifying glass is brilliant, I secured a small led screen with the magnetic short stands, soldered 16 close together pins using the magnifying glass, I couldn't believe how I managed to solder such tiny pins on tiny pads very close together, came out very neat and precise, I doubt I will solder anything without using this, I haven't needed to use the light yet but it works fine, very happy with this well made helping hands tool, definitely recommended.

The product is great and works well , great quality 👌, got two of them now. Wide range of use. I use mine most days. And I love the magnetic bases. Light is very good and uses a USB connection.

I really liked the quality of this set. It feels sturdy and provides a good deal of flexibility. I haven't used the magnifier but the light is very helpful. My only major complaint is that the alligator clips squeeze the wire very tightly and in some cases left an indent in the wire, and the way it attaches to the arm via twist screw seems to come loose. Still, even though it's pricy, I would definitely recommend it. The quality is very nice.

Great tool, very versatile for a multitude of fiddly jobs. The croc clips have some cheap heat shrink on them but than can easily be swapped for something more substantial. The magnetic bases are great as I can additionally attach them to my metal table top elsewhere.

This product will safely hold quite large circuit board and a lot besides .the heavy base and strong flexible arms will hold quite heavy objects best todate
