Easy TouchGlucose Monitor Kit Combo (Meter Kit and Test Strips 100ct)

Accurate, Easy, Quality, Affordable
I've been dragging my feet for months about buying a new glucometer. I can't find the strips for my old one anymore and they were pretty expensive anyway. So, I had to find a whole new device. So, I started pricing the strips first because a lot of times the device is inexpensive, but the replacement strips is where they get you.I found the replacement strips for this device first and was shocked at how affordable the price was. So, I looked at the device next and a whole kit was really affordable. You get so used to your own device that you worry if the new one will be accurate, how fast it is, do you have to use "test" solutions or not, and even how the "sticker" works for poking your finger. And, you get 100 strips with the kit! I'm happy to say that this kit and device is better than what I had used for years. The prick of the pen to draw blood doesn't hurt at all--at least on my finger tips. The strips draw the blood easily without a misfire (at least so far), and the countdown is just 5 seconds to an accurate reading. No test solutions or coding are needed. I feel like the readings are very accurate. However, every device is different and I think the FDA still allows them to be up to 20% off perfect readings, but that doesn't concern me as I don't think the doctor's readings for A1C or just a standard check are exactly accurate either.I find it's best to just be within an appropriate measure. I can always tell when I'm really low and the device confirms it. I also know what I've been eating and the time since eating so a higher reading doesn't surprise me. If in doubt, check a few times over the course of 30 minute or so and see what the readings are. Sometimes one low or high reading is an anomaly caused by the machine and sometimes it's because you have something on your fingers, which is why it's important to wash the area first. With my old device, sometimes I just had to switch out the stick as old blood was giving a weird reading. I don't use a fresh stick each time and only switch if one gets really dull or I get weird readings. The great thing about this device is that the strips are very affordable so it won't bother me if I ever need to use a couple extra ones--with the old ones, using extra strips felt like throwing money down the drain. The kit comes with a really nice pocket size holder to hold the device, the pen, the container of strips, and even a pocket to keep the instructions and extra "stickers" for the pen device. The extra pocket doesn't have a zipper though, which would have been nice. However, there are nice sized expandable bands to hold the glucometer, the pen, and the container of strips and they are all held tight and secure inside the zip up "purse" to hold it all together. The kit comes with everything you need including the battery. The pen for pricking your finger (or other body areas) has 5 depth settings and an easy-to-use push button and a pull-back plunger to prep it for use. The pen and glucometer are nicely shaped to make them easy to old and use.I liked what I got the first time that I immediately bought a second one--one for home and one for being away from home. Each kit comes with test strips, plus I bought a set of 100 more at a really convenient price. The expected delivery date each time was a week or more each time I bought one, but they actually came very quickly--in just a couple of days. It would have been worth the wait, but it was a nice surprise and service that I didn't have to wait. The device has a variety of settings and time lengths for average of readings, as well as the ability to review recent readings. I didn't see where you could set each check to be before meal, after meal, or no meal. However, that wasn't a concern for me. You can tell when you took your test by the date and times, so I can figure out before/after meal averages, if need be, but I don't let those dominate my life like they used to do.A great device much better priced as an entire kit and as separate strips than what I had seen for a while. I'm glad I didn't rush into buying something else and did my research first to find something affordable that works well.

Seams accurate...
I bought the set fluid, but it's accuracy is "within 30 points" according the the instructions. It was right in the middle, so it seem good. 30 points seems a bit wide a margin though.....

Nice price
So far so good. I used the One-Touch Ultra before and this unit seems to work as well. I am concerned, however, that the manual indicates a new battery will be needed every 50 or so tests. I have not got there yet, but the Ultras needed maybe a battery maybe every 12-18 months for me.I only stopped using the Ultras because the cheaper strips were getting too hard to find.I have yet to try the computer integration, Seems good so far ...

Not accurate AT ALL !!!
I've had many meters over the years, but this is by far the worst one. It is inconsistent , and I Have no idea what my blood sugar is actually running. It can be 87, 114, 125, or 140 all within a minute or so of each reading. I'd say the quality on this one is right there near the bottom as far as meters go. Definitely returning this one. Going back to CareTouch.
