Simply follow the instructions. Activated mine with coconut milk, the one used in Caribbean cuisine. Within 4 days it is making the kefir with no problem at all

Waste of money
The kefir grains looked completely dead already in the sealed enveloped. The picture of the grains is misleading as you just get 1% of what is shown. I tried to activate them with milk but nothing happened. Strongly recommend to get your kefir grains from somewhere else.
