Please read full review. Buyer beware!
I have grown different varieties of potatoes for several years and decided I wanted to try this Japanese variety (I love the flavor).Unfortunately only a few farms seem to be selling these. Blindly with few reviews I went with this company. To my uter dissapointment I received three potatoes that looked like bottom of the barrel store bought ones, unprotected in just a shipping box. I could have picked up better at my local Japanese grocery market. They were not beginning to grow (every seeding potatoe I have purchased in the past have the eyes beginning to sprout) and looked unhealthy at best. They are also usually protected in a bag along with some soil. Not knowing this variety I still decided to give them a try and with great care and with excellent soil, I attempted to get them to begin growing (I actually tried two different ways to get them to start). As you can imagine I got nothing. No growth at all after 3 weeks. Just sickly dead potatoes.I guess I will be giving up on this variety until a farm I can trust starts selling them. Do not be like me. Skip this company.

I bought slips before, but not like this crap
Was this a April Fools joke, I got 4 trigs hardly 3 inches long, about a sixteenth of a inch thick no leaves no roots, I put them in water and will give them 10days to see if any thing happens, let you know by 4/ 15/ 25

Just wow!
I only bought 3 slips and planted them as soon as I received them. I just harvested them and had huge sweet potatoes and lots of them. Im still blown away at the number of sweet potatoes and their size. The largest is a heavy one, it is at least a foot long, probably more and about 5-6 inches in the largest part of it. I have quite a few similar and a couple almost the same size. I have a lot that are normal range sizes, so lots of sweet potatoes from 3 slips. I recommend this seller to purchase the slips and get ready for a great output.

They are growing.
I planted them the same day the post office delivered them. I received 4 little plants (not 3). It took several days for the new leaves to start budding but that’s normal. I love eating this type of sweet potato so I hope I get a good harvest.

My first mail order live plants…
This is my first time ordering potato slips via mail order … I can’t comment really because I’m not sure what I was supposed to expect. When I received the box it was nicely wrapped and sealed. Opening the box the slips’ base were wrapped in plastic which that was wrapped in brown paper. Unwrapping the plastic, the slips were very dry. I removed the slips from the plastic wrapping very carefully. I don’t think the roots were supposed to be off of the bottom of the slips… out of the 6 pieces ordered 2 separate potato slips had actual roots, 4 had nothing really that looked as if it could grow on the base of each plant…i have decided to carefully plant all 6 slips anyway along with a little prayer hoping they will grow into happy Japanese Sweet Potatoes…I will let you know how they turn out. That’s all I can really comment because I haven’t seen how the sweet potatoes will grow yet…when I do, I will gladly report back! Here’s wishing for a happy crop of Japanese Sweets…Enjoy a delightful Summer!

Maybe wrong time to order, but just sweet potatoes with no buds
Maybe I just ordered at the wrong time (early November) but I just received a box with 3 whole sweet potatoes, no sprouts at all on them. I've had them in a well lit humid area thinking I could get them to sprout and then use them as slips, but nothing and its been over a week (this may also just not be enough time, but I was expecting to receive a sprouted plant I can grow right away). I'll keep an eye on them and see if anything comes of this, but for the price I expected something more. If I get anything I'll update my review...

Seller made good
Slips in first order were not viable and had to be returned. Replacement order was very healthy. These photos were both taken first day the slips arrived.
