KIPON IBERIT 35mm F2.4 Full Frame Camera Lenses for Sony E Mount NEX (Black)

Sonyalphablog gave the prior edition of this lens a good review. Kipon touted that this 2022 edition was even better, But the image quality of the lens I received was poor. I sent it directly back to Kipon and they sent me a replacement, which was also poor.

I wasn’t sure if I’d like this lens, but I’ve had it for at least a month or more now and I love it. I also have Kipon’s 75mm, which I just fell in love with once I tried it. Obviously with the focal length difference, this one took a little of adjusting on my part, but once I discovered a good use for it and the benefits of zone focusing, this thing is a real joy. It is quite small, which makes it incredibly discreet. I love the optics and once you figure out how to zone focus, street photography becomes an almost clandestine breeze. Beautiful color, beautiful optics (no vignetting that I can see, though I use a crop sensor, and considering the focal length I’m very happy with the lack of barrel distortion). All in all, great for both street and portrait use. I’m sure it’s good for other applications as well, but I primarily use it for portraiture and street work.
