Very simple to use — WEAR PROTECTIVE GLASSES
A light-bulb broke and remained unchanged because we were scared of making it worst. Although I know about the potato trick, I was nervous about have exactly to cut the potato, and whether I might introduce moisture that would require waiting before switching another bulb. I figured $10 was worth the peace of mind, even if I only end up using once. After making the purchase, and using it, I think this is really nice and useful. It's very simple: It's simply a way to push down on the bottom of the lightbulb without hurting ourself, and holding it firm enough to be able to twist. But it is very effective. One important thing: There are safety instructions, and they are short, but they stress WEAR SAFETY GOGGLES. And given the dust, glass and metal debris that typically falls from a broken lightbulb socket they are completely right!

Worked great
I just received this for use on a broken floodlight over a kitchen sink. Using it with extension pole as directed I was very quickly successful in removing the broken off bulb base on an incandescent bulb, and replacing it with an LED one. Well worth the money. I was unable to remove it with needle nose, which I had tried first. Great tool for a special need.

Didnt work...
Purchased this because we already had the pole/other attachments and had a recessed light break away from the base. Unfortunately the light is in a room with a 2 story cathedral ceiling. Got on a ladder, placed the larger attachment over the smaller one as needed, but only thing I managed to do is get the bigger piece stuck in the broken base and have it separate from the smaller one that was attached to the pole (and spinning because the thumb screw wouldn't lock it in place).

Bayco LBC-800
I can't say for sure that the Bayco LBC800 was the reason I could not remove the broken bulb from the ceiling fan socket.

Works quite well
Ok, did not have much hope for this working based on prior reviews. Stuck bulb. broke the glass. Tried the pliers, the carrot trick, the potato… lol I would’ve tried a steak. Nohting worked. Bought this stupid gizmo on AMZN. It’s a cheap piece of plastic, but Damn if it didn’t work immediately. Right tool for the job. Worth it!

This tool saved my life
AT my age, no way am I climbing a 16 ft ladder to wrestle with a broken bulb in a vaulted ceiling. This extractor worked like a charm. You need to go slowly and carefully with it, but it sures beats wrestling with a pliers on a tall ladder to remove the male metal end of a broken life bulb. 5 stars! I will use this on lamps etc without the need for an extension pole. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Don't hesitate to buy
I was skeptical at first but after watching a YouTube video for this product , I removed the stuck bulb base in 15 seconds. This device is worth every penny.

It works!
Previous homeowners never changed the dead microwave bulb because the glass separated from the bulb base. Base was oxidized and was in a small space. Bought this packet and used the candelabra portion. It fit in the small space I was working within. I pressed firmly (though it didn't fit all the way into the bulb base opening); counterclockwise turned; and it loosened up so I could finish unscrewing using my hand.I assumed it was just going to squeeze into the bulb base because it looked like a silicon bulb inside the packaging. After opening, it is a firm piece so it didn't give while also being a bit soft for gripping the base.
