High quality, plug and play and whorth the money.
This is a great CAT cable for the Yaesu FT-817. I originally purchased a cheap one form eBay and I had to return it because just did not work. Then I saw this one at Amazon, a little bit more expensive and I wanted to give it a chance. The cable quality is great and works perfectly. Buy with confidence.

Worked perfectly
I don't often use CHIRP so I had to mess around a bit to get the cable, computer, software and radios all talking at the same time. I used this cable and a current edition of CHIRP to program my FT-817 and my FT 897 radios. Clearly it was operator error because I had the same trouble using a different cable for my VX-5 which I had last programmed over a year ago. Planning on programming my FT 100 when I get around to it. I really liked the LED lights. I really like the no driver download. I don't want to hear any snippy remarks please about reading the CHIRP instructions. I prefer the excitement of slowly recalling the correct process. Deja Vu all over again.

Bought this to run my FT-2000 radio through my computer using HAM RADIO DELUXE and no issues with the install. Cable worked perfectly on first try. KE0SJQ

Basically Plug and Play
Used this to control my FT 857d radio via a Raspberry Pi 3 . Was plug and play . Flashing LED on the cable connector indicates traffic between Pi and the radio .

Works, but not very durable
Worked as advertised for programming a FT-1500 and FT-817. I would rate at 5 stars had one of the pins in the mini SIN connector broke. After being slightly bent, it sheared off at the base when I gently tried to straighten it, rendering the cable useless.

Works as Described
I use this for connecting my FT-857 radio to my laptop, since the radio's display has deteriorated beyond use. I plugged it in to the radio and the computer. It passed data beautifully and I was able to control the radio from my laptop.

Driver Installation required under Win10
The cable was not plug and play as advertised as I needed to locate a compatible driver to install.Other than that frustration, the cable seems to be working as expected.
