The media could not be loaded.  I bought this because my brother has one, and he loves it. My first impressions were great; it is sturdy, very simple to clip onto your grill, and very convenient. As soon as you put your phone in the cradle, it automatically clamps it securely. You can then tap the base (as per the video) in order to release it again. It also charges really well, so is perfect for using satnav on your phone without draining the battery. For the first few weeks, I was very impressed with it.However, after a while I found the release mechanism would randomly kick in while I was driving. This is annoying, to say the least, particularly when you're using your phone for navigation and it suddenly drops to the floor. Weirdly, though, I found that if I plug my phone using a different cable, rather than charging it in the cradle, this never happens. I therefore now use this as a cradle only (which it's still very good for), and use my normal charging cable to charge it. Obviously this is less convenient. I'm still somehow fairly happy with this, even though I'm not getting the full benefits it promises, as it looks good and is sturdy, so I feel three stars is appropriate.

This is a great charger. Looks good, charges reasonably well using the USB socket on my car. Unaffected by the star/stop system in my BMW MINI. The attachment method could be improved. It requires some finger gymnastics to secure, and does not fit as firmly as I would like, at least on my vents. It's cheap though, better than similarly priced items and looks quite good.

This product is really good and well built as well as easy to install and use. The only problem I have found is that with s start/stop engine when the start/stop feature kicks in at traffic lights the clamp opens and the phone falls out of the bracket unless you remember this happens and hold the phone in place while closing the clamp. Not helpful as this means taking hands off the steering wheel.

Nicely built product that works flawlessly other than that it seems the charging magnet interferes with GPS meaning I can’t use this for the thing I want to use it for the most - sat nav. Google maps and Waze both constantly lose my position when using the charger. I suspect this is unavoidable with wireless chargers in general but haven’t tried others.Otherwise, this is a really nicely designed product.

I was mostly happy about this product until the car-fixture mechanism started working poorly after three months. Charging works good, and auto-detecting system is perfect, but the fixture mechanism is not durable at all. The whole thing comes crashing down at least once per drive. I would also have preferred if the touch-sensitive metal that opens the clamp was located somewhere where it was not so easy to accidentally strike it.

So annoying that it only works when connected to power so if you turn your engine off at the end of the journey, your phone is locked.Also sometimes it randomly opens up on its own while you’re driving so your phone is in danger of sliding off and breaking face first.I couldn’t be bothered to go through the return process. With so many finicky bits.Would honestly not purchase again, it’s too much hassle as a driving companion. Anything can happen, depends on the day I guess.Good luck, you’ve been warned.

Had this unit a for a few months but now the unit although shows on my iPhone X charging but at a very low rateHaving to return for a refund

Having purchased a similar product from a different manufacturer - I was pleasantly surprised at the build quality, ie it's very good. The mounting clip to the air vent fits very securely with minimal wobble (unlike other mounts I've tried). You have to press a button (at the rear) or the metallic mount at the bottom to release the securing arms for the phone. When you place the phone in the mount it automatically retracts the securing arms to hold it in place.
