Shuts down if phone draws too much current
This is a beautifully conceived and designed product and easy to mount on an air vent. But BIG disappointment after I clamped on my Galaxy Note9 and got message that the unit couldn't handle the phone's current draw and immediately shut down. Maybe designers could revise the circuits to handle a "bigger" phone. I'd happily buy the revision!

This phone charger/holder really works, and is excellent
I figured that for the price I was just going to get a piece of plastic that held my Samsung S9+ and would give it a little charge. Wow, was I surprised. It is very simple to use, I didn't even read the instructions. It clamps to the air conditioner vent, and I originally thought that was a bad idea, however, when you charge your phone, and also use it with your car's bluetooth, the phone gets hot. When you use this unit and clip it to the air conditioner vent, the phone stays as cool as a cucumber, actually cold. I really like the way the side clamps move, self adjust, and hold the phone. My phone is very secure and doesn't feel like its flimsy or that its going to fall. I've used it for three weeks, and its worked perfectly every time. I can't believe such a quality phone holder is sold at such a cheap price. I would tell my friends that this specific unit is the one to get. They do make a lot more expensive ones if you've got a lot of money.

solid product with nice package
The product is built durable. This is not a cheaply made product. It came with a nice package. Instructions are easy to read and simple to follow. As you insert the phone vertically, it gently grabs your phone from the side so it’s safely secure while charging so that your phone doesn’t drop as you are driving and it fits on the vent. I was charging my phone within minutes of opening the package. I have used this for a couple days to test the function and it proves good! There is a silicone buffer to protect phones from scratching.

Great phone holder / charger for the car.
I use this phone holder almost daily. It does a great job holding my phone while in the car (never fallen off the vent yet!). It clamps my Galaxy Note 8 (with case) very well. It also does a very good job charging. This will be a "permanent" fixture in my car. Very impressed!The only thing that I don't like is it doesn't have any power to release the clamp when the car is "off"... So if I forget to remove my phone from the clamp before turning the car off, I can't remove my phone until turning the car "on" or going to "accessory" mode on my car. It is a very minor issue.... A note in the packaging also warns of this issue.This is still an awesome product...Recommended!

It does a good job at holding and charging my Note 9
Can't be beaten for the price. Performs better than a $59 dollar similar charger. Looks wise, I prefer the more expensive charger. Performance wise there is no advantage, and automatic hold and release is better in this charger. for 1/4 the price, this is a bargain. Yes, the more expensive model comes with a cigarette lighter charger included, but only one of the two USB ports is fast charge, and protrudes out of the lighter. Better off buying a dual fast usb charger, which is flash with the dash, and charges two devices at fast speed, ending in less than half the cost of the more expensive charger. We'll see about longevity.

GREAT idea, poor design.
Wireless charging is a wonderful development in the age of cell phones. I bought two of these one for each of our vehicles. This charger works as a charger but the mounting is the issue. The charger is supposed to be mounted/attached to a vent in the vehicle. The weight of the device causes the vents to close in both our vehicles. I have another mounting , non-charging, cell phone holder that inserts into my CD player and still allows me to play a CD. If this charger was designed with that mounting ability I would be keeping it instead of returning two of them.

Great if you miss all potholes
Ok first it's well built and looked awesome and worked mostly... I have to say I installed this in my semi on my mount that had the same ball size. The first day it worked great... unless you got a call then it dropped my phone. The second day I ended up on I 80 in indiana and if you know the road you know it has maybe 40 miles of the near 200 mile smooth, that said if you hit a hard bump it drops your phone. On 80 it dropped my phone some 48 times before I decided to lock it on and unplug the charger and motor. It held the rest of the way to my destination. I am planning to return this just need to get it home.

Sturdy
This device is well made and packaged quite nicely. It has a steady charge but I'm certain it's not nearly as fast as my 10x home charger. Could be related to car charge capability, not sure how to test that, I just know it's slower but still a steady (if slow) charge on a durable and well made car mount. I like it but did need backup charger for my Umidigi phone (which is a high battery capacity device with slow drain and proven 10w charge capable on other chargers. The carge problem MAY BE related to car restrictions, I'll test further and update review if I figure it out).Either way, I got this for a price fair for a car mount, but hope to also get the charge functionality that drew me to choose this device over others.
