It had promise - but didn't deliver
I was hoping this would be a good phone. It had a lot going for it:Processor speed, memory (4G/64G) and reviews that say the camera is good.It looks nice. I am not a fan of notch screens and for good reason. At the top of an Android phone is all the status notifications. If over half of the top of the screen is missing (the "notch") then so are many of your notifications (like battery percentage for example).Speed was very good. It updated itself to Oreo 8.1 - and it has stock Android, which I believe is usually the best way to go.Camera wasn't great though. Quite grainy and splurgy shots (if you zoom in, you can see a real lack of definition). But it was liveable with. However, what wasn't liveable with was the call quality. It would not only drop calls sometimes, but even just turn itself off. I had thought it must have been badly held and so the power button was pressed, however it wasn't. I got fed up with people asking me what happened during our call. Really oddly, it would never do this if it was connected to the car by bluetooth. So, back it has gone. Perhaps I had a dud. I am hoping so because, for the money, it has a lot going for it.

A price to performance monster.
After buying this as a replacement for my old iPhone, I am more than impressed. Let me explain...Box contents:The Elephone A4 ProMicro USB charge cable (charging adapter comes in a separate box)Sim ejection toolSilicone caseUser manualsThe Elephone A4 Pro resolution has 1512 X 720 pixels which makes it a great HD panel. The device has a sharp display and integrated with quality adaptations to make it enjoyable to use it. With 5 touch points availed by the touch screen of the device, you can easily find it easy to manage operations. With IPS technology, you are definitely going to get a good viewing angle ability. The Elephone A4 Pro is a budget smartphone but still offering a bunch of features like Face ID, Side Fingerprint Unlock. The Side Fingerprint Unlock is great and works almost flawlessly. The device runs on the Android 8.1 Oreo operating system that is rarely found in budget smartphones. This makes the phone quick and stylish, with the ability to run any app you can throw at it.With 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, you will have plenty of space for all those apps, selfies and videos. The camera is surprisingly good too, some pretty good colours and sharpness.WiFi and 4G work exactly as it should. I can get a full WiFi signal from anywhere in my house. Mobile data while I'm out is also fantastic.Don't let the price fool you, this phone feels and looks just as premium as any of the other brand flagship phones out there (and also comes with a free silicone case, so added points there.)Overall, you'd be hard pressed to find another phone with a price to performance as good as this.

Switches off randomly
I brought this phone just after Christmas, so nearly 6 months ago now, and it's been driving me crazy. It has an annoying habit of randomly rebooting when I'm trying to do things. At first it was just when I made phone calls, right at the point the other person picked up it would reboot. This didn't happen every time, but enough to be annoying. Now it sometimes happens when am taking photos, or using an app, or when I'm not doing anything at all. It's happening at least once sometimes twice a day now. This means that I can think my phone is on, while I'm waiting for a call, when it's actually stuck in the booting sequence waiting for me to put my pin in (a requirement when it turns on). It's also very problematic if I get a call from a private number as I can't call them back. I brought this phone for it's storage capacity and good camera, but never expected it to fail in such a fundamental way. I've had it for 5 months and am already having to consider getting a new phone that is more reliable! Which is certainly not ideal as I'm a student and don't have money to burn!Buy at your own risk.

Bargain, fantastic specs
Processor - it has a 4gb ram processor which is very fast, also fantastic when it comes to multitasking/ using more than one app at once. It hasn't shown any sign of lag since buying it with a lot of usage. Games and videos can be played without buffering.Bluetooth connectivity - fantastic and quick when connecting to other devices, transferring documents doesn't take long, also connecting to wireless earphones is perfect.Fingerprint sensor - very quick and snappy, never fails to recognise a fingerprint, unless you have dirty fingers.Sound quality - the sound quality is excellent when comparing it with phones of the same price range. No cracking when talking on the phone.Camera - decent camera, has a dual rear camera so that is great, and there placing looks quite stylish.Design - the design is pretty modern and the placing of the cameras is perfect. The phone has a notch which looks pretty cool.Price - bargain of a phone, the amount fantastic specs crammed into such a cheap phone is impressive.
