Made from plastic, NOT leather
Have people never gotten a chance to smell real leather nor felt it? Who the hell gave 5 star for these shoes? This is made of plastic recycled from bottles! Simple test, use a lighter and bring is close to the shoe: what do you smell, something toxic or something you would eat?Yes the shoes are looking great from far, but far from ideal for taichi, due to their toxicity and lack of breathability for any sport, for that matter.Next time I will buy good old feiyues which clearly say they are made from rubber and material.Who are you kidding?

Awesome shoes for Tai Chi
Bought these for my boyfriend. He loves the fit and the design of these shoes. He can now practice the long form without sliding around the wood floors. He likes the added detail of the rubber sole coming up slightly on the heel, which supports the heel to toe movements he's practicing. Bought these shoes to go along with a Tai Chi silk/cotton uniform for an official look, but he can use these with other apparel as well. He wears a 43 in European and Asian shoes, and a 9 in US shoes.

Not a Leather Shoe
I should have know better than to expect a leather shoe for $37.99. This shoe is entire plastic with a rubber sole. I would rather pay double this amount and receive a genuine leather shoe. If you’re expecting a good quality Tai Chi shoe, this is not the one. Very disappointed.

sleek and snug!
Normally I wear mens 9.5 wide. I chose EUR44 and they fit well. Initial size feels slightly snug but after some light usage they should be perfect. I bought these for tai chi, chi gung, and weight lifting. The shoes are very sleek and they feel almost like wearing gloves. The synthetic outer sole has good grip and it seems sturdy even though it is thin and flexible. As expected, there is no extra cushioning in the sole, which means improved, positive floor grip. Unless these fall apart quickly (which I do not expect) I am very happy with this purchase.

Perfect for my needs
These shoes are exactly what I wanted for tai chi sword. They are lightweight and well made with a thin sole and little cushion. As far as fit, I have a wide foot and had no problems ordering my usual size. There is not a lot of cushion and I have high arches, but they are quite comfortable nonetheless.I live in South Texas, and they are a little warm when worn outside, but it was expected since they are a solid construction with no vents.

Good looks, good quality, great for wushu
I wore the cloth style ones for years and this is my first pair of these. Working very well after a little time to wear in (two or three hours of training). The bottom seems to be holding well which was a problem with the other ones. But I wore out a little spot on my heel on the inside - I covered it up with some sports tape and seems to be okay now. I train about 3-4 hours/week and I think these are holding up very well. And they look great.

Perfect if you have wide feet
I'm a female who ordered these for my martial arts class (obviously). I wear a size 9 1/2 in US womens, so I ordered a size 42 in these. That's the conversion from what I could find. These are definitely comfy shoes. I was worried that I ordered one size too big but once I started moving around, I realized the toe length was perfect. Unfortunately, they were just way too wide. A size 41 would have left me with no room lengthwise. I wound up going back to Asics because I have such a narrow foot.

These are my favorite shoes
I wear these with a shoe insert, and they're great for gym shoes. The sole has stood up surprisingly well. I definitely feel very grounded and though they fit snug don't feel restrictive because of how soft the leather and inner lining are. Definitely buying a few more of these.
