Q: is this brand organic? I see it on other brands, but not this one.

This one is labeled as "Non-GMO Project VERIFIED". I have looked front and back, nothing saying it is organic however.

Q: i'd love to try this item, wondering if the issue with sand or stones has been resolved before I purchase it?

I transferred mine to a couple 2 gallon plastic containers. I did not notice any rocks or sand in the process. However, I would say that it is probably like any dried food like beans, it is always best to check it as you use it just in case.
