broken part, no assembly instructions, but decent chair in the end
February 5, 2018 UPDATE: So the folks at Winsmooth directly contacted me regarding the issues I had in my original review, and the quick & excellent customer service I got from them bumps my rating to 4 stars (from 3 stars). With respect to the broken part, they immediately offered a replacement part at no charge, and for the lack of assembly instructions, they said they will work to improve the assembly experience -- vague I know but better than nothing. Despite the replacement part offer, I didn't really need it since my super glue solution worked out fine, and the broken part doesn't receive much stress from actual chair usage, so I'm confident it won't be a major problem. Even though I told Winsmooth I didn't need the replacement part, they then offered a monetary compensation of reasonable value instead (not disclosing the actual amount, but it's reasonable for the replacement piece), which I accepted. Given this satisfactory customer service experience, I'm willing to upgrade my rating to 4/5 stars, which was my original intention were it not for the issues described in my original review. Why not 5 stars? Well after some use now, couple minor annoyances are: 1) seat skeletal structure has a bucket/cup shape with bone/frame around the edges (obviously not the front) which makes sitting cross legged uncomfortable (as opposed to a flat seat surface) but I'm hoping getting some cushions/padding will resolve this; 2) side of armrest surfaces has weird narrow valley-like depression at the seams (hard to describe) that's kinda sharp and could cause cuts if not careful (e.g. swiping arms/hands quickly against the surface); and 3) the leather surface isn't as breathable as fabric surface, which can lead to sweaty bottoms faster/easier -- now this isn't necessarily a defect with the chair or material, just an attribute of leather surface chairs (the advantage of leather is easier to clean), so keep surface material in mind when shopping. So I'm writing this review while sitting on this chair, and it feels pretty nice. I'll start with what I like about the chair:- Armrests are adjustable height AND swivels (rotates so you can angle them inwards/outwards) -- very nice as lots of cheaper chairs only have static, non-adjustable armrests, if any at all- All functionality works as described, including the reclining feature, which feels pretty good, and the adjustable height of the chair itself obviously- Pretty comfy so far -- nice to have firm back & head support with the taller back pieceHOWEVER, a couple of annoying issues drop my rating to 3/5 stars, whereas if these issues weren't present, I'd probably give 4/5 stars. Issues are:- See attached photos -- I got a broken part, probably due to stress from rough delivery/shipping/handling. It's a minor part that's more for design and safety (smoothing out edges, hiding screws from contact, etc.) rather than being critical for any chair functionality, and it's not a prominently visible part either, but it's still a broken part. It's like this circular ring cover that goes on the bottom of the armrest leg, and there are two of them -- one for each armrest. Anyway, it's thin plastic, and one of them was cracked and completely split into two jagged pieces. So I had to use super glue to fuse them back together, which I'm not particularly happy about... hopefully it won't be a major problem for the longevity of the chair. I saw another reviewer for this chair had a similar issue (a different broken part), so I'd be concerned about the durability of some of the plastic parts for this chair and/or the packing/shipping/handling of the product.- No assembly instructions. I don't know if this is standard procedure for chairs of this kind, but it was weird not to have ANY paper instructions (or any instructions that you can look up online) on how to assemble the chair. I've never before had a product that requires assembly and no instructions are provided. To be fair, it's not too hard to figure out by looking at the holes, guessing the alignment of screws to said holes, and basically fudging the pieces around until it all fits together more or less according to the product image, but even a basic 1-pager of instructions would massively help provide confidence that you're connecting/orienting the pieces properly vs. guesswork. I dunno if I just didn't get instructions by accident (which would be pretty bad product packing in addition to the broken piece I got), or if this thing actually comes with any instructions by default. Anyway, it wasn't a huge deal, as I was able to figure it out eventually -- took me an hour to assemble, but I'll admit I'm not the sharpest when it comes to manual assembly of hardware.Regardless, I have the chair in full working order as described at the end of the day, so despite the issues, it's not a total fail.

Edit:
I bought one of these a couple months ago and it didn't have all the bolts and washers necessary to assemble. Specifically the m6 bolts and washers. The m8 bolts were there. I had to go out and buy my own bolts. So after a couple months I really like the chair and I decide to buy one for my son thinking the first one arriving without bolts was just a fluke or one time mistake. Well I was wrong, the second chair came in today and no m6 bolts or washers. Now I have to go to town again just to pick up $3 worth of bolts and washers. This could have been a 5 star review because the chair is great, but for the price I paid I expect the bolts to be in the box. Hopefully this problem will be addressed.Edit: I overlooked the m6 bolts this time. They were missing on the first chair but the second chair did have them, they were screwed into the bottom of the seat. Moving up from 2 stars to 4. Wonderfully comfortable chairs.

(NOW BROKEN CHAIR) Good chair for bigger people like myself.
I'm a pretty big fella. 6'2" 380lbs. This chair has been mostly perfect for me. Its sturdy, somewhat comfortable ( the bucket seat digs into my thighs a bit ), and it rolls well on low profile carpet. To fix the seating issue I just grabbed some throw blankets to sit on and it feels fine. It's easy to assemble but I noticed some dog hair in the sheath to the hydraulic. No big deal for me but it just proves they use used parts.Edit: Almost a year later and the chair has broken at the cylinder head and now swivels uncomfortably. It was a good chair up until then.

Not for a Big and Tall Guy
I am 6'6" and 350lb. my shoulders are at the head rest when i sit normally in this seat. There is zero lumbar support, so I ordered a lumbar pillow. The width would be ok if there were not "Wings" on the side of the seat that went up. They dig into my side. I ended up giving the chair to my 13year old son. It fits him perfectly and he likes that it looks cool.

didn't last
As a larger person i was very happy and excited about this chair but in less then a year the metal base has broken on both sides and can now not recline at all.

Short gas cylinder
I think I may have gotten the wrong gas cylinder with mine because the gas cylinder is comically short. Luckily I had a spare in another chair I could swap out. Otherwise very cozy.

Great chair
The chair is great with a slick design. I just wish the chair had lombar support for your lower.

Chair does not make it past 9 months
Bought this chair twice and both times, the chair does not make it past the 9 month mark. The section of where the air piston meets the seat broke on both of them. Chair does not stay up anymore and now swivels around on a point. Which makes for an extremely uncomfortable seat. I got this chair for it's claim of holding a 440 lb person. I hover around 370ish. So I am well under the max weight issue. If you are looking for a chair for a bigger person, I do not recommend this chair.
