Excellent Value
This is basically the first two albums, contemporary singles and EPs at a very good price. There is some wonderful music, a little bit of filler and nothing in the way of notes etc. If you want some history get the Early Years box, if just some great music, this does nicely. I have both.

The Shadows were an amazing instrumental group in England all by themselves
Have followed "Cliff and The Shadows" since 1958. The Shadows were an amazing instrumental group in England all by themselves. They also provided excellent backing to many of Cliff's hit songs.

Wrong songs on two of the three CD's.
Disk 1 is great, but the Disk 2 and the Disk 3 I received were incorrect disks. Disk 2 didn't have the songs listed on the web page or on the CD case insert - some completely different songs from another EP collection are on Disk 2. Disk 3 has the same songs as Disk 1 and did not have the songs listed on the web page or on the CD case insert.

Shads at their Best
This album is perhaps the most comprehensive compilation of early Shadows recordings, which were arguably their most original. Beginning with their early singles as 'The Drifters', this album includes all their pre 1962 singles, the E P's 'The Shadows', 'The Shadows to the Fore', 'Spotlight on the Shadows'. and 'The Boys'. It also includes their first two albums 'The Shadows', and 'Out of the Shadows'. Effectively it covers all their material from 1959 to 1962, and as such is not a greatest hits album, but a comprehensive collection of all their early work, in more or less chronological order. Highly recommended.

Lots of The Shadows
I am very happy with this album, I used to listen to my mum's singles of The Shadows 40 years ago so great to hear them again. One strange thing with my order was the Autorip version went onto my Amazon music account but was for Gene Vincent, I queried this so they put the album on again, this time it was Muddy Waters so I suppose I got 3 albums for the price of one so 180 songs. All three albums are the same name. Anyway I scored and am enjoying listening to The Shadows, pioneers in their heyday.

Too many songs and pre-shadows tracks
Yes, all the great Shadows instrumentals are here but there is a random inter-mixing of their never-very-interesting singing and far too many early 'Drifters' tracks. The compilation could have been organised better but there's no way to avoid all the fillers. Not one to keep in my collection.

It is a brilliant collection of all the shadows tunes over the years
It is a brilliant collection of all the shadows tunes over the years. There is to my mind no other band or group even in to days area that can even get near the shadows. They still sound great despite the age of most of the group who are around my age of 70 plus. Just best

I am still a 77 year old shadows fan.
There was nothing to dislike about this album, being a shadows fan and during my late teenage years I tried to learn to play a guitar and be like Hank. The only dislike if you can call it that is that it would have been nice to have inside the casing a history of the group & individual members.
