Helios 44M 58mm F2 Russian Lens for Nikon

It is a great lens, you must know that there is a limited in focus depht of field due to the focus distance between the lens and the sensor. But that is part of the game, just don't expect focus on infite nor even at 5 meters from you, get used to the distance and compose acordingly. You will fall in love with the results. Try more posibbilities than the f2 wide open (which offers a beautiful bokeh and artistic distortion and chroma aberrations), it has more in it to explore. PS: get the ring adapter and dont be afraid to damage your cam as some reviwers say, I found no problem in it. May be sharp edges once installed in the lens, try not no un remove with the ring from the lens with your bare fingers if it is too thight. Enjoy

I have been shooting Photography for 10+ years. I shoot with a Nikon D7000 and D5200.There is very few lenses that have out the gate impressed me over the years, except for the main staples 351.4,50.1.4 and 85.I also have the 17-55 which I adore. The Helios lenses are everything that people say and then some. I bought a Carl Zeiss lens and I love it because it brings a certain spirit to my photographs, But the Helios has a pulse and heartbeat.For the money it is so worth it.

Great price and free quick shipping, adapter was also with glass, to use with infinity focus. An added bonus feature!!

The thin F mount adapter plate is tenuous at best. Much care must be used inserting the lens with adapter into the camera body. Test using back and forth turning to find the correct seating.The lens itself has a threaded mount.The lens does not seat correctly at the focal plane. Infinity is really 6ft on the D7100 body I used.I'll probably experiment with it as a close-up lens.Lettering on lens does not necessarily align with the front of the body.

This was advertised as a Helios for Nikon. However, it doesn't fit my Nikon D850. It also states that an adaptor is included which was not in my package. I have emailed the vendor with no response! I cannot recommend this vendor! Waste of my money!

I love the softness of this lens. The saturation is excellent. A little too soft wide open, but one step down and it’s excellent. Excellent head and shoulder lens, as well as everyday shooting
