A good backup radio with limitations
I got this radio to be a backup comm for flying. The product specs said it had intercoms, and that was a feature that pilots like to have, especially if you're training. Turns out, the intercom is not practical for use. You can either have radio, or intercom, but not both. And it is clumsy to switch between the two. I have ops- checked the radio out at the airport and the reception was loud and clear, but the range is limited as should be expected from a 5W transmitter. Battery life is so far very decent. I like the fact that it came with adapter plugs for the standard fixed wing headsets. So the big disappointment is that I was hoping that it would be setup so that it would be standard Voice Activated Intercom and PTT radio. But alas, not so. Apparently it has voice activation (VOX), but I was not able to get it to work. So the whole feature of having an intercom is of no use for training. Perhaps if you wanted to use this radio to let folks talk in the backseat on their own (pushing the PTT button each time they wanted to say something). The interface is not intuitively obvious. The manual is sub-par. You use the keypad, but up/down buttons, or the dial knob on the top to change frequency. The lowest button on the left is the flip flop button. The bigger knob on the top is the volume, but with fat fingers, I was constantly also rotating the smaller frequency knob. Poor design there.I was not able to get the memory feature to work. The manual was not accurate.Untested is the VOR reception and accuracy, as well as the range in air. Just haven't gotten around to it yet. But the person attending the UNICOM frequency said I was loud and clear. The unit weighs 11.3ozAll in all, poor design and documentation. Good battery life. Acceptable clarity and transmission and reception for a portable. Small form factor so it fits in the bag easily. Fairly light weight. Price was the cheapest @ $179 so it's an affordable way to have a backup radio for your kit.

Awesome handheld radio with all accessories at a great price!
Probably one of the best air band nav/com handheld radios I've used! Much better price than iCom and others! Good solid feel and reaches ATC on the ground well for ATIS and clearance before getting in my plane! I purchased the rechargeable version. This version includes a desk top charger that holds the radio securely while charging. And....also included was an adapter for headset use! Amazing and really good price at less than $200

Awesome unit ...
This radio works well, the battery when fully charge lasts days before it began to run down.ALSO the desk top charger - will have your battery fully charge in a short period of time.I must say I was somewhat contemplating if I should purchase this unit since no one had left any reviews, but after having it for approximately one month it's clear that it's an awesome unit.Get yourself one , you'll love it...

Item works as advertised. I was able to talk to a ground station from over 15 nm away at 4000' AGL using the rubber ducky antenna.

Fast shipping, easy to Program and Use
Seller sent it extremely fast! Comes with everything you need in the box with easy to read and follow instructions for programming the radio. Charges quickly and lasts all day when I’m monitoring air and emergency channels. I would recommend this air radio!

Diesent radio for about an hour than turn it off
The Rexon radio is pretty good until you leave it on for a while, after about 1 hour all the channels seem to have noise on them and you will spend about 15 minutes locking out channels and still not find a clear one finally you will tire and just turn it off. My bearcat scanner seems to be a better choice to use on drone missions. I just thought this would have a better range and in some cases it does but the constant static will tire you! Even adjusting the squelch does no better, I just don’t know what the problem is!

Good value for the money
Great little radio forum backup and emergency use. Came with headset adapter and desk charger. Was missing a rubber dust cover for the headset plugs, but other than that it works well and seems to be well constructed.

Good Radio for Monitoring
This is a good radio if you just want something for on the ground to monitor radio traffic near the airport. The battery seems to last a very long time. Downfall is the range seems to be a bit short so it may not be the best as a backup in an aircraft. If you are just looking for something to listen in to radio traffic it is good if you are at the airport. If you truly want a backup I would look for something else.
