After being told last year that my car would require close to $900 for a water pump, I didn’t know what to do. That isn’t the kind of money I have hanging around. My dealership is great in working with me when I bring my own parts – so, after locating this one here on Amazon – I then needed to save up for the labor.The day I dropped my car off, I got a call – this part wasn’t going to work with my car. They didn’t exactly say it was the wrong part; just that it wasn’t going to work with my car.Now, I had checked this against all databases. Even Amazon stated this was a “fit”. But, as it turned out – I needed a few seals, a cover/housing, and a few other things. And, even using the cover/housing from my own vehicle wouldn’t have ensured a proper fit.Thankfully the dealership only inspected the item and didn’t try to use it, so I was able to return it without any issues.I can’t really attest to the ease of install. I can only state that this was not compatible with my 2008 Chevy Cobalt 2.2L EcoTec sedan. Again, this is despite checking multiple websites for verification that this was the correct part.

The part works great! However, huge undertaking changing the water pump on a 2004 Saab 9-3! If you are doing it yourself research it first! I'm a pretty experienced mechanic, the awful design of the placement of the water pump makes for more work than is necessary. Don't think I'll change one of these again. Also you will have to purchase a water pump socket holder tool as this dose not come with one.

Just installed this water pump today. Perfect fit and better quality than the one I removed.
