Heat Deflector, Plate Setter, Smoking Stone, Pizza Stone for 18" Large Big Green Egg Grill, 18" Kamado Grill, Chargriller 18" Akorn Kamado

Feet are shorter than the OEM part limiting the pans placed under a cooking grate along with circle circumstance being slightly smaller. Slow cooked 6-8 times and works great in comparison to OEM aka BGENot enough clearance to place a conventional dripping pan when smoking. Haven’t found pan with wall/lip short enough to make clearance. Works fine otherwise. Using aluminum foil can catch drippings, but not most desirable solution. Deflection foot print is smaller that BGE deflector, this hasn’t posed a problem.

It diffuses heat very well and appeared to be well made on initial inspection, but a corner of one of the legs fell off after about 4 medium temperature uses. And I mean fell off on it's own, not after being struck or dropped or something like that. However it's still useable for it's intended purpose and we are still using it. Just a little disappointed.

The plate fits perfectly and serves the purpose of. Heat deflector. I have not used the plate as a pizza stone yet, but I am certain it would work well

Little small for the big green egg (18')

This is the 2nd cookingstar heat deflector I bought, the first one broke on me when I dropped it into my BGE a bit carelessly. I would be a little careful handling this deflector.

I used this for probably a cumulative 40 hours of smoking at low heat on my Green Egg. It worked as intended, until I set it down today and it cracked in half for no reason. It isn't as if I've had this product for years and used for hundreds of hours such that it is just waiting to break; rather, I've cooked a half-dozen racks of ribs and a few pork butts, that's it. Given the price and the intended use, one would expect this to last a lot longer than it did.

Smoked a turkey for Thanksgiving and it turned out perfect! Couldn’t have done it without this! Could be bigger but still fits. Same as egg brand but for a fraction.

Big Green Egg makes it difficult to get their products a good prices. They don't allow online sellers. You have to go to one of their dealers. They keep the price high. This Cookingstar product is a great replacement for Big Green Egg's plate-setter, but much better price. Same quality. Same results.
