It's fast and simple to use
I used this kit to test my tap water for lead and mercury primarily. The directions were easy to follow. The results were easy to read and it only took a few minutes. I liked that there were two tests available in the event I made an error, spilled the packets of powder or whatever. Three would be even better. There was only one test paper for lead. An additional test strip would have allowed me to confirm that I had followed instructions accurately if the results were inconclusive. Thank you - I will use this again if I feel the need to evaluate my tap water. SD

Simple basic water test for 4 heavy metals
Test showed that my tap and filtered water has acceptable levels of all 4 of these heavy metals. My water filter (aquagear) seems to remove Cu. Only had 1 test for Pb so only tested the tap water and assumed the filtered water Pb levels would be at or lower than tap.Likes: fast and easy to use, 2 tests for copper (Cu), iron (Fe), and mercury (Hg).Dislikes: only 1 test for lead (Pb), chlorine interferes with Hg by imparting a blue/green color making reading Hg difficult to impossible. Chlorine will evaporate over time so one work around is to let the water sit for 24 hours before testing.

Easy
Easy to use and follow instructions. Whether it is accurate -- I'm not sure. My tap water came back negative for all heavy metals. I could only know the accuracy if I compared it to an official lab sample.

Difficult color matching
The copper and mercury litmus style color test was easy to set up but, if you had a reading over 0ppm, it was hard to judge an accurate range. This was especially true for the mercury. The color tone for 0ppm was a pale gold and the next color level at 0.002ppm was VERY minimally darker. Unfortunately, that first level would then place the mercury content at the max for USEPA contamination of drinking water. That's a problem, no room for error. The copper test was more forgiving. The color change was more apparent if you reach the max USEPA level for this metal. To be fair, if I were using this kit on a regular basis I might be better at judging the different ranges. In general, I would probably give this another try since my main concerns are lead & copper contamination.

Works well, easy to use
The test for lead doesn't require a color match, just a couple of lines on the test strip. The other heavy metal tests require a color match but all worked well. The copper test is impacted by the chlorine in the water so you might need to let the water sit overnight or something.

Newark water filtered through Brita safe!
News recently broke about the pipelines in Newark seeping lead into the water. I have been Brita-ing my water since moving here from Brooklyn and was happy to see that the Brita water was within the guidelines and safe to consume. The only downside is that it only comes with one lead test so I was not able to compare against the straight from the tap water. All in all, with good lighting, the test was pretty easy to read as my husband and I are familiar with strips like this for testing our fish tanks ph levels so I am a happy customer. Thanks!

Easy to use
Just what we were looking for - able to test a variety of things with our water - lead, cooper, iron and mercury. Easy to use. Arrived quickly also.

Vague results, not useful.
In the photo you can see that the window that is supposed to be the viewing window (flipped in the other direction to read results) is not colored, but the areas around the window (which you would not see when viewing correctly flipped the other directly) is bright pink. No idea what this result means. The light window would make me think low copper but when I turned the strip around and saw the bright pink corner it made me th ink high levels of copper? Very unclear, not useful. I use testing kits with my aquarium so I am familiar with proper technique. This product simply did not work as intended, maybe I got a dud. Disappointing for the high price considering I’ve paid this much for testing kits that provide months worth of extremely accurate testing supplies.
