This works like a champ

Bought this to get HDMI sources to output into RCA composite devices. Never could get it to work going from HDMI out to RCA in. Then tried the reverse with other devices, RCA to HDMI in, and still no success. Nothing works. I tried various devices. - NES Classic, Video camera, Atomos Recorder/monitor, 2 Sony decks, JVC VCR, Sony VCR, 3 CRT TVs. Not worth shipping it back so I guess I'll keep it.I suspected it would take more than just a cable to do such conversion. A converter box is probably neeeded for the signal change. So the next question is why even make a cable to convert between HDMI and RCA if it isn't possible?So why 3 stars instead of 1? Maybe this cable has some use I am not aware of and I should have known it wouldn't work. It won't work for what I needed it for and now I know. Maybe it will work for someone else

I was looking for something to convert HDMI video to RCA (420i) video. Specifically, I had an Intel ComputeStick that I wanted to connect to a very small display (specifically a 3.5 inch TFT LCD Monitor 320x234 pixels). I already had one of these monitors running in my shack being fed by a quad display from my security system and it works VERY well. Not sure WHAT this device actually does, but I should have known it would not convert a digital data stream into an analog video stream. And it didn't. Returned it for an alternative converter... that I hope converts.

I see that there are some positive reviews, but those reviews are from different items, some reviews even talk about connect a Wii to a HDTV, etc. I bought a hdmi to RCA adapter and this review is about this, it does not work at all, I purchased different adapters including a RadioShack converter and with the same configuration and devices those devices work,but this one doesn't, probably needs an external converter which is pointless. Even the only video uploaded from customers who bought this show that adapter does not convert signal.

Installed the cables but could never get older audio equipment to work with new TV. Purchased new audio equipment to resolve problem. Not sure if the problem was a problem with the cables or the very old audio system.

I tried using this to connect my Amazon Firestick to a projector and speakers separately. Neither Video or Audio worked. So don't waste your money on this one. Also, as I was connecting it to the back of my equipment the head of the connections started to come off. Very low Quality material. The only reason for the 2 stars vs. 1 star was that it arrived on time.

I tried using this product for a Blue Ray player to an older TV without HDMI input. I bought this cable hoping for a solution. The cable gave no input from the Blue Ray to the TV. I scrapped it, using the new Blue Ray on my HDMI TV and taking an old DVR to use with the older TV. Threw the cable in the trash when it belonged because the date to return it had passed by the time I had a chance to try it out.
