Shoulderpod S1 Professional Smartphone Rig, Tripod Mount, Filmmaker Grip

As a minimalist photographer who went from massive amounts of backbreaking Nikon gear to shooting nothing but rangefinder style cameras, I truly appreciate gear that is worth more than it's own weight. This is exactly that product.The S1 is a versatile minimalist tool that provides a variety of uses and will directly and immediately impact both iPhone still photography and video. The product arrives very nicely packaged. Out of the box, the S1 sets up in less than a minute and feels like a quality product in your hand. In no way does it feel cheap. Installation on your phone is a few seconds. Instantly, you will have an ergonomic handle making it much easier to hold the camera for landscape orientation photography and video.On our first use we noticed an immediate improvement in both iPhone still and video photography. In still photography, the internet shutter shake was nearly eliminated. In video, the shakiness from holding the iPhone during video is eliminated allowing you to pan smoothly. Hand fatigue is also nearly eliminated.The product is well balanced, takes up very little space, and truly turns the iPhone into a better photo/video tool. I keep it in my EDC bag and it does nearly everywhere with me now. Also, the S1 has a quality tripod attachment point allowing use on all tripods, making it even more versatile than you would expect.I read a new version is in production but not released (the S2). I would love to see what improvements they made, although arguably, none was needed.

Just as a little disclaimer, this review is not influenced by anything other than my own experiences and opinions with the Shoulderpod S1 Professional Smartphone Rig. Also, it is one of the rare products that after a month, I STILL OWN!Hands down, this is the top handheld grip for the iPhone 7 Plus, or any iPhone for that matter, that I have ever tried. It is small, light and super easy to insert and remove your phone. It creates stability that allows for smoother videos, crisper photos, and a much more comfortable and natural grip when using your smartphone as a camera. It expands to cover almost all ranges of phone sizes (with cases) and easily fits into a pocket when not in use. If you watch Amazon, you can find it anywhere from $25-32 and I would call that a worthy investment if you have any care about your mobile video or picture quality.Some other features of this smartphone grip (aside from being an awesome stabilizing grip) are its ability to mount to a tripod thanks to the universal 1/4″-20 threaded base. You can also mount it on a slider or on a shoulder rig for taking smooth shots and steady video clips. If you don’t have or use a tripod, now worries, as the S1 stands on its own. Mount the grip at the center of your device for landscape-mode or slide it sideways for portrait-mode.I honestly have not tried using the grip as a stand too often, preferring placement right around the home button to provide comfortable and stable control as I am constantly chasing around my daughter trying to grab videos and pictures of whatever she may be doing.

I take a lot of videos with my iPhone of the kids and other things. I was looking for something to stabilize my video shots. There are lots of little gadgets that you can attach to your iPhone to make it screw into a tripod. This item serves three purposes: 1) you can attach it and then have your iPhone or smart phone attached to a tripod as it has a hole for the screw mount; 2) it provides a good handle for holding the iPhone steady while you shoot a video or take a picture; and 3) it allows you to prop up your iPhone at a vertical angle on your desk. It also comes with a nice leather strap so it stays on your hand. The build quality is very solid and dark black gives it a cool look. Whenever I think I'm going to shoot video on my iPhone for an extensive period of time, I quickly attach this and I get a much better and steadier video. It also doesn't cost very much. I highly recommend it.

I've had the Shoulderpod S1 over a week and have used it to video my grandson's birthday party. Shot lots of stills outside and inside and I couldn't be more pleased. I was hoping this would be a helpful for shooting with my 6 plus and I was way right. It's not perfect. As mentioned in a few other reviews your never quite sure if the mechanism that tightens the grip is staying tight so I think most of us will check it periodically. I know I do and I've never found it loose. Sure some kind of lock set would be a welcome improvement but it shouldn't be a deal breaker at all. It feels well made, it screws down tight and can take that extra 1/4th turn to be sure. The strap works and also adds another sense of security. I've taken the bottom part off and screwed the system to a monopod, tripod, gorilla pod and I've had nothing but great results. I've read a comment about it not working in portrait configuration but for the life of me I can never figure out why someone takes stars away because it doesn't do something it never said it could and was obvious from all the information provided was never meant to do. It's kind just as silly as those who take stars away because of a delivery problem that has nothing to do with the product. Anyway, if you've got a 6 plus (I've got the Apple leather case protector on it) and are interested in this product read the reviews and feel comfortable that this will do what it say's it will do. I think the price is fair for the quality of the product. My only issue is the name, ha! Maybe Handpod S1 would have been more accurate.

Wirklich brauchbar, wenn man mal unterwegs oder im Urlaub besonders gute Fotos machen und das Phone besser im Griff haben möchte. Durch die Schlaufe braucht man z. B. auf einem Schiff oder einer Brücke keine Angst zu haben, dass das Phone runterfällt.

Ok, il titolo è tanta roba!!Ci tenevo a fare capire che esistono altri prodotti simili per non dire uguali che costano la metà e valgono meno.Questo a mio avviso è il phone grip DEFINITIVO! La qualità die materiali è davvero elevata e come dicevo la si tocca non appena si apre la confezione. Paragonato ad un prodotto simile, si nota subito il peso. In questo è maggiore e dunque rende di per se le riprese e foto più stabile rispetto a quello leggerissimo. La qualità della vite, la parte morbida che stringe SENZA difficolta smartphone anche grandi, con o senza protezione, anche grande. Il laccetto è un nastro in materiale sintetico, non un laccetto in cotone.La possibilità di fissarlo su di un cavalletto con la classica vite da 1/4 di pollice fa si che sia molto versatile.Non ha l'attacco a slitta per accessori come illuminatole, microfono o altre cose ma a me non servono e non ne sento la mancanza, anzi!! Apprezzo proprio la linea pulita essenziale e pratica.Certo costa un poco ma se penso che ho preso prima la versione più economica per poi buttarla, dopo qualche caduta a terra, senza smartphone in quanto la vite si era appena piegata. La gommina si stava staccando e ho dovuto attaccarla con pattex....

Un articulo práctico y de mucha ayuda para captar imágenes pues su diseño ayuda a tener estabilidad en las tomas y mayor soporte con el smartphone.

Cuántas veces hemos hecho fotos/vídeos con el móvil y empezamos a cogerlo de formas raras, con dos dedos... (y alguna vez se nos ha caído)Este adaptador agarra el móvil (enroscando o desenroscando según el tamaño), y así tienes un eje donde sujetarlo y ganar estabilidad.
