I love it.
When I first opened the package, it had a very slight odor (even though it says odor free). That odor was gone in about a day of being out (maybe the odor was the packaging). To be honest, I thought it would be thicker when the description said: "Item Weight 5.8 PoundsFabric Warmth Description Heavyweight". It's thickness is about what I remember of Army blankets. Still an outstanding blanket! I found it to be very soft (for a wool blanket). My wife thought it a bit scratchy at first (straight out of package), but after a little use says it is soft now. It is definitely a high quality product. I love mine and I highly recommend it.

Washable!
Nice blanket, wool and it’s washable! Bought it for my cat so I didn’t have to keep dry cleaning his wool blanket. He loves this…we may be fighting for it when winter arrives. Right now it smells a bit like wet sheep (!!!!) but I expect that will fade away. Great value!

Thin but warm
I'm replacing an old wool blanket with this one in my little survival kit in the vehicle. They are very similar to each other but this one is thinner. Just giving it a little test run indoors, and it warms me up just fine it's just less comfortable to wrap around yourself which, for me, is not a big deal but if this was a camping blanket or something like that, it would matter more. It's not itchy or anything, it's actually more soft, but it feels stiff. If you used it regularly, it will probably get more comfortable over time. I would say giving it a wash will soften it up, too, if you wanted to speed up the process. Tested the "windproof" nature of it which can be hit or miss with wool blankets, and this one shielded me from the wind surprisingly well. For me, I'd trust it to be in my survival kit and keep me warm in case of an emergency. The blanket itself is fairly heavy despite it feeling more on the thin side which probably explains why it keeps me just as warm and shields so well against the wind. I got the full size and it's labeled as 5lbs on the storage case. I weighed it and it's just over 5lbs. The listing claims 500 GSM which is slightly less than my previous blanket but it's fine by me.Loom woven and whipstitched on all edges which should make for a long lasting and durable blanket. For me, as mentioned, this will be a survival kit blanket and it will simply sit in a vehicle. If you use this blanket on a regular basis at home, camping, etc. You should find that it will last you quite some time or at least on paper it should last you some time. The looks, well.. It looks like a wool blanket. I wouldn't use this as a decorative piece at home. I would use it as a blanket in storage for cold nights at home, camping or survival kit.Overall, I am happy with it. It's warm and it should work well for my needs.

Had odor, didn’t bother me. This 100% wool blanket is a monster. I purchased the king. It warm, true to size and for the most part a good value.

Treated with chemicals
This blanket has terrible odor, not wool smell along with a layer of thin oil on it. The smell is akin to benzene. The seller needs to list the chemicals used in the manufacturing process. Given that people use it next to their body, there shouldn’t be any harmful chemicals.

Best wool blanket
Bought 1st one for my dog. Was skeptical that hanging in the sun instead of washing would be better. Well, it is! Shake it out, bake in the sun. There is no dog smell at all after hanging outside for the day! Bought one for myself it's so well made. And heavy! Warm! Yes, it's a wool blanket so wool smells like wool, not cotton. It's not full of chemicals which is exactly what I wanted.

Blanket smells
A reasonably good blanket. Good weave but cheap hem. I'm glad that I bought itHowever, the blanket comes with a strong smell, so expect to air it out for at least 2 days. Three days would be better.

My second Ektos blanket
I've been waiting for Ektos to restock their 100% wool throws and I'm very happy I finally snagged one. I bought another Ektos blanket previously (90% wool, twin size) and loved it so much, but I needed one that was smaller in size for my summer camping trips and Ektos is one of the only brands out there that does throw sized wool blankets. There's one or two other online companies, but their material descriptions make me hesitant to believe it's all real wool or anything close. If you've ever dealt with 90-100% wool fabric much before, you can tell Ektos blankets are the fabric they say they are. This 100% wool throw is sewn well on the edges, my blanket doesn't have any imperfections or initial manufacturing errors. It smells great (I really enjoy the smell of fresh wool, but I'm an outdoorsman) and feels wonderful, too. And for the price, you're never going to beat it. I have no idea why wool prices are insane, but I'm happy there's at least one company that doesn't price gouge for 100% wool blankets that aren't old US Navy/Army surplus resells. I was in the Navy for 9 years and still remember those low quality grey wool Navy blankets onboard the ship; they kept you warm but weren't even close to being as soft as these Ektos blankets.Remember, wool blankets don't need washed nearly as much as non-wool fabrics due to wools natural antimicrobial properties. You can spot treat the wool here and there and when you do finally end up giving it a full wash, you can do it by hand pretty easily. A bathtub, some wool-approved detergent, and then a good ole fashioned clothes line is the way to go. You can even just spread it out on the floor after washing so it doesn't shrink if you don't have a clothes line.If you're someone like me who spends hours researching every little thing when you're shopping for something and today you're trying to find the best wool blanket for the right price, you found it.
