The packaging, in which the clay is held in, is stunning! That black and gold combination really works, as it instantly looks luxurious. The clay itself has a clean scent which just completes it.Sorry to sound repetitive but it really does smell great; the clay itself isn't crazy sticky, once applied the style lasts and there is no need to reapply with this clay, just work it in, and that's it. What you get with this clay is pleasing results. Moreover, you get a lot of texture to your hair and great hold. So your hair should not be flat by the end of the day. First impression was \"wow what a needlessly heavy container!\" - if you were traveling or even just looking to not take up too much space in your bathroom cabinet, this product would be a problem. Its \"retro style glass container\" weighs a third of a kilo just for 100ml of product, three times more than comparable products and a lot larger too. In terms of the product itself I was a bit bemused to find that instead of the \"just got out of bed\" look, this clay gave me the \"just took off a hat\" look - hair was fluffy not textured, not a great deal of hold, and left a gritty texture in my fingers. I have used various hair clay products for many years and this is easily one of the best. The fragrance is lovely, my wife noticed it straight away and loved it. I do slightly prefer the Vo5 styling clay, but it comes in a very small tub and with no fragrance. The clay itself is gray in colour and has a lovely woody scent of cedarwood, ginger and grapefruit (a full analysis of the scents is included on the label). On styling it produces a matt finish, adds volume and texture to the hair and, apart from holding all day, it also washes out easily - exactly what is needed from a hair clay. The instructions tell you to keep it out of bright sunlight and also to use within 18 months though I don’t envisage either being a problem.
