Depends on the water quality and how offen you use the water. Normally, disposable bio-active stone should be changed every 6 to 9 months for an average household of four, or after 10,000 gallons of water usage. If you live in a hard water area and have very bad limescale, we would suggest changing every 3 months for best performance. 3.Does this showerhead come apart for cleaning? The shower head come apart quite easily, please unscrews from the head pieces for descaling,various acidic chemicals or brushes can be used, some heads have rubber-like jets that can be manually descaled. HOW TO AVOID LEAKAGE It is important to bed the white rubber O-Ring correctly, otherwise may cause leakage. If it leaks, please turn the white rubber O-Ring upside down and try again. If the head is assembled properly you don't get any leaks or dribbles on the joints.
