Ehhhhh...works in a pinch
I'm not sure if its just my Wireless Router or if it's this dongle, but I often times experience drop outs when using this. Also, it says it's wireless N but it doesn't receive enough power to get any more than 25mbps when it's only about 30 to 40 feet from the router. The drop outs last for about 30 seconds, then the connection picks back up and it happens about every 10 or 15 mins. Not enough that it causes a SERIOUS problem if you're just web surfing or even watching video since the video is probably buffered enough, but if you're wanting to do any sort of online gaming(even just like minecraft) its not happening. At the price it's good in a pinch. But if I were you I would spend another 5 or 10 bucks for something more solid. I give it a 3. It works, and it's not the worst thing ever, but if you can afford something slightly more expensive, I'd get that instead.

Does not perform as advertised
I followed the Installation instructions per the manufacturers recommendations. The EDUP Usb WiFi Adapter dongle did not work in a reliable manner. Initially it seemed to speed up my internet mail ect. But after 1 day my internet speed was the same as if i did not have the EDUP Adapter. I even ordered another EDUP Adapter to determine if i received a defective unit. However the erratic operation was the same . I tried to call the Tech Support tel # and website but was unable to communicate with anyone. Very disappoinnted.

Pretty nice product for the price and very easy to use
I had no issues with this product. I have a Windows 10 PC that I needed to setup with Internet access in the Living Room about 3 rooms away and I purchased this product to use as a low cost alternative to running wires to the NIC.Installation for me was a snap. I plugged it in to my HP slim desktop (that I had installed a fresh copy of Windows 10 on), and then Windows 10 found the drivers, loaded them, and then all I had to do was put in my 2.4Ghz password for my SSID that it found. So from three rooms away I get about 3 bars where it's going through about 2 walls, and sometimes it bounces up to 4 before it settles on 3. I have no connection issues and my kids can use Steam on it with no issues from the Living room. This item has so far worked great for me.

Unable to run the software on a Mac.
I have an old MacBook Air (mid 2013) with a damaged airport card, so I bought this adapter.I had recently purchased a different EDUP brand wifi dongle but I wanted to see if the small size one worked OK.The software won't run properly on my computer. It'll be running in the background but the moment it detects the wifi dongle is mounted it exits and won't re-open.Obviously shoddy programming. The dongle actually works - I can connect to the first password free signal with the dongle mounted - but the software doesn't run so I can't connect to a preferred network (which means the computer is always trying to connect to my neighbors xfininity wifi which requires a login I don't have).

Stable in Linux with some work
I picked this specifically because some of the reviews talked about it's out of box Linux compatibility. As it turns out the chipset isn't compatible and wasn't common enough for them to bake it into the Linux kernel. There is enough people out there that purchased these cheap wifi dongles though that I found some good info about updating the kernel on my Debian install and rerolling the new updated kernel with a few patches to make it work. Once I did this I had no trouble with wifi in Debian. So it does work in Linux, but required a lot more work to make it work than I wanted to perform when buying it. With my patched updated kernel the signal is rock solid, but there are better dongles out there that work natively without a patched kernel so I wouldn't recommend this if you're planning on using it on a Linux machine.

uNABLE TO cONNECT TO mY wIFI nETWORK
My wife has a 9 year old Lenovo All In One, WIN 7....decent processor,, nothing great. She is a minimal user totally. Email, word docs, etc...All of a sudden, her Wifi adapter was dead. Nowhere to be found, I assumed hardware failure. So I bought this device. It would not work on her WIN 7 64 Bit Lennova. Tried everything, including uninstalling the Norton AV SW. Anyone got any ideas? In all fairness, this adapter worked on a 1-year old Dell i7 laptop running WIN 10 Pro 64 bit.

Continually dropped connection
This USB wifi adapter is very poor quality. The wifi signal to the computer continually fluctuated when using it, from one bar to all bars, even though the USB wifi adapter was connected to a stationary computer. Worse though, is that it would completely lose the wifi signal at least once per hour, and I'd have to remove the adapter and then reinsert it into the USB port to get it back again.I returned this adapter & bought an EDIMAX USB wifi adapter instead. I have had zero problems with the EDIMAX (consistent signal to computer, never drops), so it clearly was a problem with the EDUP adapter itself and not the computer or wifi source.

this product is a gamble
I was waiting on a new ethernet cord for my pc so I was looking for a temporary way to access the internet. This little USB worked great for one day and then randomly decided to stop working. I reinstalled the software from the disk it came with and tried reinstalling with drivers directly from the manufacturers website, both to no avail. I figured for the price it would be hit or miss but unfortunately mine was a miss. In hindsight, it would be smarter to just spend a few extra dollars on a better one and have something I can actually use if I need it again.

Updated: Appalling - stopped working after less than 2 months.
Second edit: adapter has stopped working altogether this week. Have updated driver but to no avail. Really wish I hadn't recommended this to my sister.Review edited 19.10.20 - adapter disconnects as soon as the laptop is taken more than a couple of metres away from the router. Waste of money.Great little gadget that fixed my sister's wifi-less laptop after Windows Update broke it! Used the disc to install the software & got back on t'internet less than 5 mins. Job's a good 'un :)

Did not work with my PC.
I bought this to replace an existing USB Dongle that was cutting out occaisionally. I installed the WiFi Adapter according to the instructions using the mini disk supplied. The WiFi icon on my PC showed a conection, but when I tried opening my browser the WiFi icon closed down. I went to Device Manager and it showed that the adapter was installed and working, but it was not. The Wifi icon on my pc was off. I tried reinstalling it three times, but each time I got the same result. So I have now returned it for a refund. I would not buy this again. I was fitting it to a desktop pc running Windows 10. My router is 10 feet from my pc.
