Bought this for my cold plunges. Happy with it so far. Seems to work. My water is still clean and clear.

Open case with exposed UV bulb, no filtration, too big to fit inside a filter.

This is my second UV light for a 210 gallon aquarium. My first was an inline one, that water from the cannister filter travels through it, so you and the fish don't see the light.This one is not that type. It is one that either is submerged into the tank and secured with the 2 provided suction cups or if you have a sump tank, submerged in that.I do not have a sump tank, so that option was out. After reading the warnings about the lights potential dangers to the fish, I opted against hanging it inside my tank and exposing my fish to potentially harmful light. Plus, I think the light would be annoying to humans near the tank. It is too large to submerge in my HOB (Hang On Back) filter, so I'm looking for another route to use it.A sump would be perfect, since that is away from the fish and humans view, plus good water flow going by it.That was the only reason I deducted a star. My fault for thinking I could mount it inside my main tank. I would only recommend this for people that have extra space in a sump.

I’m using mine down inside my hang on the back filter and so far it’s doing great. Looks like my water is definitely staying much clearer than it was. Easy to install and move around.

I don’t know what’s material is, but I smells so bad
