I find that the design of this magnetic dots drawing board can be a bit frustrating for kids to use and enjoy. The magnet at the tip of the magnetic pen is weak and it's tough to guide the bead to its spot without dropping it. Of course once the bead drops in the wrong place, you have to pick it up with the pen and return it to the bottom storage slot. I would make the slot much taller to better spread out the 108 beads so that they don't pile up on one another. Using the drawing board on a table top probably works better than using the legs that come with it.

My kids (ages 5 and 8) were so excited to get this item! Even though it's geared to younger children, there was something relaxing and enjoyable in this activity for my 8-year old too! This is a great travel toy for road/air trips, both along the way and once you reach your destination. Thanks to the magnetic board, you won't lose the dots! This toy is great because it helps children engage their fine motor skills and spatial cognition. I think this is a good gift item for children too, as it's a toy that encourages a child's development, so most parents will appreciate that.
