I would also be dubious of him being made an SAC too because they are very experienced and intelligent team leaders for goodness
Bought this for my girlfriend and she loves it. I lost interest after this series, but then I'm not a fan of a show that constantly promotes the so-called genius IQ of a somewhat inept character in Brennen and it irritates a little when Booth is portrayed as a bit dense when I sincerely doubt that the FBI (who have a minimum entry requirement of a college degree) would entertain his application and who is apparently extremely proud that he is a 'Jock' and not a Squint. I would also be dubious of him being made an SAC too because they are very experienced and intelligent team leaders for goodness sake and Booth constantly apparently struggles with even mundane scientific principles. To be honest Bones is far better than many series involving the FBI, which whilst (as with all government departments worldwide) it has its issues is considered to be one of the preeminent law enforcement agencies and I suspect that the FBI gets a bit sick of being portrayed in some of the popular TV shows as a bunch of witless grunts that allow serial killers to escape or run around apparrently aimlessly without any kind of direction. Still I guess that a certain amount of belief suspension is needed so if you can forget my issues it will entertain you.

Gripping from start to finish
I couldn't wait to receive my third series of this amazing programme and although I've seen it before, it still didn't disappoint. I did however wait until the price came down, as mentioned by a previous reviewer.Right from the onset, it grips you and leaves you wanting more as you try to figure out, along with the characters, the question that's on everybody's mind ... Who is Gormagon's Assistant.I love how the characters have developed over the three series and I'm constantly finding new things I missed from watching it the first time. Along with the obvious crime solving and an insight into their personal lives, this programme goes from strength to strength and never fails to disappoint. Although it's a `crime solving drama type show', I find myself laughing more and more at the one liners that are constantly being thrown out.Bones fans will not be disappointed and all I can say is I can't wait for the next season to become available.Enjoy ... I certainly did.

Excellent Stuff
I was in serious need of something a little cheering on the DVD front and what plomped onto the mat but Bones Series 3.Seriously icky (there was a scene with an opened time capsule which made me wish I hadn't just made myself a cup of tomato soup! YEUCCHHHH!) in parts and with and obvious lumps missing from a couple of the story arcs, probably due to the writers strike, it still manages to combine a good crime drama with some well written humour and keep the plot pushing along. It works, whichever way you look at it and I loved the Gormogon idea - an anti-secret society secret society !The only thing which I wavered over was the preview double episode "Yanks in the UK" from the Fourth Series. This was, despite the best efforts of the gorgeous Indira Varma and the usual crew was utter pants! (Fortunately, the other two preview episodes seem to be far better so there is hope.)Series 3 was excellent however and I recommend it wholeheartedly to one and all!

Anti-climax???
I loved the first 2 seasons of Bones. I like that each episode there is always a different case to solve, and the humour between booth and bones being a rolling theme, the whole will they or won't they scenario. They had this is season 3 also, but started off with a rolling storyline that didn't come up in all episodes. But got interesting as it went on. It got you guessing as to who the serial killer could be, was it someone they knew? was it a stranger? But to be honest, when it got to the crunch-line I was quite disappointed. It felt almost as if they had to quickly give an ending to the storyline, and wrapped it up with no warning. The actual conclusion to the storyline I found was a bit stupid, and far-fetched. As if they had to quickly think of something. You get twists where you can look throughout the series again and see points and go "oh yeah, wow that was really clever", but this twist was just too out of the blue and made me go "what? thats ridiculous!" It was also like maybe the writers suddenly changed. They didn't like the direction Bones was going in so decided to just stop it short and start the next series in the direction they preferred. I won't go into too much detail, but this I felt was proved with regards to another storyline that involved Andrea and Hodgins. The conclusion to that storyline at the end of the series I felt also as if the writers just decided they didn't like it's direction anymore. Another totally out of the blue thing. Even though I felt slightly disappointed with this series, I am going to get series 4 in hope that the new directions are good ones. I am hoping that series 3 was just a blip.
