Long Time Theanine User
At 42, I've taken l-theanine on and off (mostly on) for 22 years. It's one of my essentials, along with fish oil and magnesium. Started taking it for anxiety and to take alongside coffee when I need focus and a relaxed mind to study. Turns out, it mildly helps me sleep too, especially if I've caffeine late in the day.I have tried SO many brands and formulations over the years. Honestly, they usually do the job. But sometimes I'll find myself thinking, "Hmm. I'm a little more tense and stressed than normal," and then realize I'd been taking a new brand because it was the cheapest or something.I've kept coming back to Double Woods. It's just solid and the price point is great for the quality. Instead of typing "theanine" in the search bar, I actually learned to use the buy it again feature.

Helps with my anxiety and sleep
I take l-theanine daily to help reduce the anxiety and jitter from a medication I take. This supplement has definitely improved my sleep quality, without hurting my energy levels. The 200mg strength is nice, and they are easy to swallow and tasteless. The only negative is the price. It costs much more than some other brands I’ve used. Overall it is a solid choice though!

Natural sedative...
Yes... been taking one in the mornings that I have at least two cups of coffee... and this keeps the jitters at bay. I give my husband one when his hands are shaky and it seems to help him with that... (shaky, aging hands that is). And lastly, I’m a bit of a recluse after retirement... and have, what I call “peopling” problems (being around new people)... and it truly gives me that mild “sedative” sensation which allows me to ease into meeting new people. Kind of cool actually. So yes, I recommend.

No conclusive effect so far, but I'm not giving up hope
Over the last month, I've developed a considerable case of anxiety that has more or less consumed my day-to-day thinking. Upon doing some research, it's been shown that taking L-Theanine as a supplement can potentially reduce these anxious thoughts and allow me to get on with my life again.I will note that I've not taken these near bedtime as the bulk of my stress persists during the daytime.Since my package arrived, I've been taking two capsules a day very consistently and on an empty stomach, as is generally advised with L-Theanine supplements. It's hard to say whether I feel that much better throughout the day or not, as I can't really say how I'd feel without having taken any. I do know that the anxiety is most certainly not entirely gone, and some days it's hardly mitigated.I'm nearly halfway through the bottle and not sure if I will be purchasing any more or trying another brand. It's been said that it takes some time to build up in your system, so I'm trying to give it the benefit of the doubt in hopes that continued doses will help. It's very possible that my issue can't be easily addressed with these supplements, but I can't say for sure it's not the pills just having little to no effect on me. Time will tell, and I hope by the end of my regimen, these pills will prove more effective in getting my life back on track.I would like to give credit to Double Wood for reaching out to me on their own to inquire how things are going. They were able to provide some useful tips that I've been using as I take the supplement. Unfortunately, not much seems to have changed, but the sentiment is still appreciated.
