I recently ordered the portable nebulizer machine for my elderly mother. Since she moved in, we've been hoping she wouldn't need to use this. Unfortunately, she had a copd flare and needed something stronger than her rescue inhaler. My husband quickly put this together and had her completing a cycle just as the paramedics had done in the past. Thankfully, no trip to the er. Today, the machine survived her trying to "work it". It will overheat if left on too long and shut off. I wish it had an auto shutoff timer.

It is always nice to keep a nebulizer at home especially if you or your loved ones have chronic lung or breathing issues. Most nebulizers that are used in the hospitals are jet nebulizers and they are very effective in delivering medication to a patient with lung issues. Having highlighted the significance of having a nebulizer at home, it doesn't really matter if you have an ultrasonic or a jet compressor, the most important is you have a readily available machine at home that you can use in case of emergency.Now to this product, I personally think that this is a jet nebulizer since it is still noisy like the regular ones. There is just a bit of reduction of noise. Most ultrasonic nebulizers really works quietly almost completely silent and comfortable. Unlike the jet nebulizer, ultrasonic nebulizers use ultrasonic waves, which are undetectable by human ears. Ultrasonic nebulizers do not use airflow to form an aerosol. Instead, these nebulizers use ultrasonic sound waves to create a vibration that breaks down the liquid into tiny particles. Also, this is a bit heavy while ultrasonic nebulizers are mostly handheld and are lightweight.Now, having settled my theory that this could be a jet nebulizer, it still works though and I'm still giving it a high rating because it still does its job of delivering medication by fast atomization of the particles directly to the lungs of the patient. The price is also reasonable.

This is an ok nebulizer.The pump on my old one died and I needed a new one. The pump on this one seems like it will last a while. According to the box, it has an estimated life of 5 years.The accessories(mask, hose, medicine cup, etc) all are functional. I don't see them lasting 5 years, but they are not designed to do so. Replacement sets are easily available. It's understandable if these parts wear out.It produces very fine vapor at a very regular rate. No hiccups or stutters in the vapor flow (Like my old nebulizer before it died).Operation does produce a sound, as expected. This nebulizer is a normal volume. It's comparable to a air pump for a fish tank in loudness. A medium humming sound.The attached photo shows the air pump with the top cover removed, to give an idea of the quality you'd be receiving if you order this nebulizer.

A must have for all the seasons! The price is amazing versus retail stores. It works amazing if not better than others. The parts are easy to take apart and clean. Very simple and easy to operate.
