I thought this digital one might be better as only the probe stays in the meat
I tried this digital food thermometer after my old one broke. The previous one was the type you stick in the meat and leave it in as you cook the food. I thought this digital one might be better as only the probe stays in the meat, and the monitor is outside the oven, so you can easily see at all times how the food is going. I also wanted one that would register boiling point, so I could test it out periodically, and this one does exactly that. I have only used it twice, but each time my meat has come out perfectly tender and juicy. This thermometer can also be used as a timer, so that makes it even more value. All in all a great purchase

Good value, will revolutionize roast dinners
Works well and allows meat to be cooked to the right levels. Have never used a food thermometer before but would highly recommend to anybody. Makes cooking roasts an easy task, and ensures that you get the same cook level every time. Occasionally this probe loses the temperature and needs unplugging and plugging back in. The ability to leave the probe in the meat whilst in the oven makes this the best value for money of all the temperature probes available.

Broke after 3 uses
Broke after 3 uses. I used this thermometer to assist with making homebrew. It appears to be very inaccurate in low temperatures (below 50oC). I also never took the temperature above 104oC. Unfortunately during my last brew (third time using the thermometer) it decided to malfunction and is now broken as it goes into alarm mode and reads (Hi) no matter what temperature the thermometer is placed in. Now unusable.Avoid.

Highly Inaccurate!
I thought a meat thermometer would be helpful to ensure our roast lamb is just pink - difficult to achieve by simple cooking-time control. This thermometer has some useful features but appeared to read much higher meat temperatures than expected when we tried it over the Christmas holidays.I recently calibrated it against a lab thermometer in stirred, heated water (a proper physics experiment ;-) with approx 10cm of the probe submerged and found the readings were within 2-3 degrees C of the true temperature. Not too bad for a cheap thermocouple meter. However, trying it in a roast joint today (inserted 10cm into the centre of the meat, away from the bone) it read 30 degrees higher than it should. We have a gas oven so the problem cannot be due to EMC. I can only conclude that there is a manufacturing fault or a design fault in this product.Unfortunately it's too late to return it...

It died after three weeks.
It was very fiddly to use, the switches on the back were cheap and nasty. It took ages to register a temperature. The temperature alarm, always reverted to 50°C even after being adjusted to 60°C.It died after three weeks.

Don't expect too much
Does what i needed. But have had some wrong readings. As it does not like water or steam.

Works for a short period of time and then reports the wrong temperature, massively high!
This is the second one I've bought, and I've got a 3rd on order. They seem to work for sub 12 months and then fail to give the correct temperature. It reads that the room is 70oC when clearly it's not!Top service from Amazon in arranging a refund, just a pain to order again and have to return the old one (at least it's a free return!)When it does work we've found the temperature accurate, albeit a little slow to display the temperature, seems to climb in 2 sec intervals.

Not accurate
Unfortunately Not accurate at all and faulty
