I Heart Guts Kidney Plush - 9" Educational Kidney Stuffed Animal - Transplant Gift for Family, Doctors & Nurses, Dialysis Patient

I ordered this plush kidney as a gift for my wife before her surgery to donate one of her kidneys to her cousin. We celebrated the transplant together the day before the surgery and it was fun to let our kids pass around "Sidney the Kidney" as we have named it. The quality is great, very soft, nice size, and comes with a little booklet explaining the job of the kidneys. My ten year old especially enjoyed reading through it. My wife is also an elementary school teacher, so she took "Sidney" to school when she returned to work to show it to her students and explain her procedure. Great gift!

Let me start by saying that I 100% purchased this stuffed kidney as a joke - as a way to lighten the mood for my father who a week earlier was diagnosed with renal cell carcinoma and who a day earlier had a radical nephrectomy to remove the tumor. It 100% accomplished this goal. He smiled for the first time in days and his doctors, who happened to be in the room when I presented it to my dad, loved it enough to say that every kidney patient should receive one after surgery.But that is not why I am writing this review and giving this 5 stars. I am doing this because every kidney patient or family member of a kidney patient should know that this cute little pillow has actual therapeutic utility. It turns out that after you have a kidney removed, you are told to squeeze a pillow when you have to cough, clear your throat, or breathe deeply. Squeezing a pillow helps reduce the pain - and the kidney happens to be the perfect size and shape to hold under your arm, under a shirt, at all times.So what I purchased just to get a smile out of my dad, ended up being a heck of a lot more.

This was so cute! My husband is missing a kidney so I thought it would a saucy idea for christmas to get him this plush kidney and it's awesome. It's funny, because when I typed in "plush kidney" on amazon, I wasn't expecting any results. This is just proof that you can buy literally anything on the internet. As we say in the car business, "there's an ass for every seat!" Anyway, the plush was accurate in size in regards to the photo they have shown with the hands placed below the product, the colours are all very accurate, it is soft and of good quality. The wrapping was nothing special, just a little plastic bag, would have been nice to get some nice wrapping but that's just personal taste after ordering many products online and I won't bash them on that as it's completely up to the retailer wether or not they want to send a note & swag with their products.Anyway, if you're considering buying this product, I would recommend doing so, and I would consider buying other products from this seller.

My friend unfortunately has to get a kidney transplant, so for Christmas I got her this. She thought it was hilarious and it really cheered her up. It's a great gift for someone who's sick and has a bit of a twisted sense of humor. It's very well made and very soft, and though we're both adults it would be completely appropriate for a child, as the eyes and expression are sewn on and it's very cuddly (for a kidney!). Overall, I am very impressed and recommend the entire I Heart Guts line for anyone who has a favorite organ.

i got this stuffy for my mom after she had to have a kidney removed. It was well received. The product is plush and bigger than expected. Shipping was quick. This was my second attempt at ordering one, the first company had trouble shipping so I canceled and ordered this one. It arrived within two days.

This is precious! We bought this for the friend that donated her kidney to my husband. She loves it and it was her favorite color purple!

These are to cute! I just love this entire collection! Right down to the testicles and all ! These are so soft and what a cute way to teach children about anatomy. Anytime you can make learning fun and a hands on experience you will hold a child’s interest much longer and I believe it helps them retain what they learn. I’m not an expert but I have had a few kids and that’s been the case for all of them.We started with this kidney and It’s great !
