Broke one clip, but still stays on camera and works as intended.
This is definitely cheap, but it does it's job. One (of two) clips broke the first time I used it, but it still says on the lens just fine. I'm not going to be using this very often, so the cheap route worked for me. If you're going to keep in on your lens then I would spend the extra money to get the Canon version.

Can't beat the price!
So I received the package and the hood is great! Had a little trouble with mounting it the the lens. After some messing around it went on ok. The thing about it is... its not a Canon but, you get what you pay for! Worth the price!

Not bad, doesn't feel secure
It doesn't clink securely on like the actual Canon lenses do.Pros- For how much it cost it's a good hoodCons- Not having the feeling that it is securely attached drives me nuts since you don't get the *click* like you do on the Canon branded lens hoods.Overall I don't regret the purchase but I'll probably end up spending the money on the Canon hood in the future.

Good & cheap
It fits the lens just fine but I found it was very easy to knock off/fall off if you bump it against anything but otherwise it works

Good lens cover and useful to reduce vignette effect at extrems of view with sun over front 60 degrees of aperture.

Great for the proce
Does seem to work great although the inside surface is smooth although matt black. Does seem very effective though. Fits well. No problems

Does the job for a cheaper price!
Took a while to figure out how to fit it. When i finally did, it worked flawless! You have to align the red shaded dot of this hood to the small red shaded square along the filter thread of the lens. While holding the camera with the back part that has the lcd screen against you, turn the hood counter clockwise slowly until you hear a click. When you do, the red circle with slit mark on the hood should now be aligned with the small red square along the camera lens. This way no vignetting at all will be seen even at the widest 17mm shot.

waste of money
The lens hood did not fit my lens at all hence i returned it after purchasing from AmazonThere were no marking on the lens as stated in the description so i dint know how to put it on the lens. There should be a red making on the lens which was not there.Also when i was placing the hood on the lens two pieces which are used to lock on the hood onto the lens fell out from the socket. I tried putting them back into the socket that they were on the hood but they kept falling out.So the lens was a total waste of time money effort.Cheap plastic grade for the locking mechanism.
