Better than the kit form
The best thing is that this works with QLC+, which is the best cross platform (and free) lighting control software. It is small and very neat. The difference in price between this finished product and the bare bones card is worth the money for the protection of the circuit board if for no other reason.Be aware that there is no output buffering so any connection is potentially straight back to the computer which is where this unit gets its power. I always follow this with a buffer (powered splitter or merger) to protect it and my computers, especially on a long DMX run. For some reason best known to ENTEC this has a five pin DMX output so needs an adapter cable in most mobile situations.

Not stable but otherwise ok
My smoke machine knocks out the DMX signal from this thing so I'm going to have to buy a buffered splitter to solve the problem. Therefore to get this working properly you have to spend more money.

So much easier to use than the 'generic' eBay type I had before
As stated in the headline, set up and use was a simple plug-n-play effort (none of the faffing about with non-signed driver files). The unit is recognised and fully supported in Windows 10 Pro too, so absolutely no issues when using it with any software (I'm using FreeStyler and it just works out of the box).So happy I bought this after my 'generic' chinese-type eBay unit decided it needed stupidly awkward non-signed device drivers and will be buying the next generation Open Pro unit once funds allow.

Not the best build, but compatible with almost any DMX software you throw at it.
Great piece of kit, despite not looking or feeling very rugged. This item is perfectly compatible with my favourite free DMX Control software at [...]. I've been using this quite reliably for over six months now using an ADJ DMX transceiver and they work together perfectly. It's worth checking out the FPS in whatever software you're using as some lighting fixtures (particularly my Prolight moving heads) become unresponsive when data rates become too high. I'd stick at 30 FPS, as the baud rate is probably too high when pushing at the maximum of 45 FPS - just making the DMX signal turn to incompatible nonsense. I hope this will give me many years of great use!

Good product
Good product and was perfectly able to use it for my A level lighting performance.Pros:Great being able to use a computer to control the lights.Deliver on time.5 to 3 pin dmx adapter included.Cons:The usb side on the box isn't quite straight in the hole however, you can still just about plug it in.Overall a good buy for those looking for a way to control lighting rigs from their computer.

Works fine, hope it is reliable
There are cheaper product purporting to do the same thing, but this is a known brand. Works fine, hope it is reliable.

Don't even bother looking elsewhere
Absolutely fantastic interface, works perfectly out of the box and has absolutely no issues. I'd previously use cheap anyama interfaces but they caused so many headaches I decided to go with a known brand. Used mostly with LightKey on Mac but have also tested with freestyler on W10 with no issues, and it's a reasonable price

Poor quality
It works but its very poor quality,PCB is just hanging inside crappy metal case, usb connector does not even come through the back of the very poor quality folded metal case, no usb protection on pcb, relies on pc to protect itself so pc usb port occasional freezes and needs rebooted.add a nice case and make the USB more stable and you would of got 5 stars.
