KVP Calmer Pet Recovery Collar

We have a Lab who has a scar on her rear leg that she sometimes will lick until it bleeds. We've used this collar for years to prevent that from happening when we're not around to keep an eye on her. While the collar is pretty worn, it is still very effective and MUCH more comfortable for her than other types. As I said, we've used this collar almost every day for year and it's still working well. I highly recommend this item--so much so that I've purchased a replacement should the old one finally give up the ghost.

There are loops on this recovery collar designed to thread your dog's regular collar through; this is necessary to keep it secured on the dog. Unfortunately the loops are small, and if you have a larger dog, it probably has a collar that is too wide for this. I needed to buy a separate collar, 3/4 inch wide or less to work with this. And that collar needs to have one of the ends without a clip or buckle on it, so that it too will fit through these loops. It's too bad this isn't mentioned in the item description.

Love this. Soft and more comfortable for dog, firm but not hard and has padding and soft felt on inside to make more comfortable for the dog. Length long enough to protect a hind leg to make contact to face. Has slit to open for easy feeding. Attaches to collar to stay put. Tried multiple e-collars and this one was the ONLY one that will ever go back around my dogs neck.

This is a great alternative to the plastic cones. My dog wasn’t able to see around the cone, so this is what we used when it was time for him to sleep as it was more comfortable than the hard plastic.

Great product worked well. My 75 pound lab bent it a bit at the end of the 9 days of using it but it was perfect for an active puppy,

Collar is soft and easy to sleep in. Fold back tabs allow eating and drinking without removing the collar.

Very nice, quality cone collar, but it had no calming affect for our dog. Had to order the inflatable Kong collar & it worked better. This actually freaked her out, as she had to be crated while she wore it & could barely move around with it on. It really is a quality product, but didn't work for our furbaby.

This was the best and most comfortable cone that I found. Borrowed from a friend first and then ordered the exact same item.

This is very very well made. But it has some problems for my dog. He is blind and his current cone works to keep him from fussing at his eyes and acts like a walking cane, but it's uncomfortable so I was excited to try this.Issues:1) It comes squished flat and didn't get round easily. Looked like my boy was hiding in a clam.2) It's too long for a snort nosed dog. I have a Boston Terrier so his thick neck needed this size, but it's definitely designed for a long slender dog. He could have done much better if it was about 4 inches shorter.3) The feeding and drinking flaps spin on the collar and end up on top of the dog's head since there is no way to stop the collar from spinning.I ended up reverting to his old ridged (homemade) cone. Can't return this since in the 5 seconds he wore it it got dirty. The soft inside is very quick to get drool and goo on it.Only good thing is it will fit my other larger dog if she ever needs a cone again, and I laughed hysterically when he was trying to figure out how to use this one.

I took a chance ordering this, as it notes it only goes up to a 20" neck, as my pup is still young and lanky, but it definitely has room to expand by several inches, so this might be suitable for another 3". I am not attaching it via his collar, though, just his neck, so maybe it would vary if you intend to attach it to the collar. It has loops that could easily attach to a collar, but it doesn't need a collar to stay in place because the velcro is strong enough.This is an excellent, high quality item. It's really well constructed; durable, thick padding, with strong velcro. My rottie/dane cross deals with skin flare ups from time to time, so he's dealt with the plastic cones to prevent chewing or scratching, and absolutely destroys them. It's probably a lot more comfortable than those are, at a slightly higher cost. It's also less painful being nudged with this softer item vs. dealing with the hard plastic cones at the back.The only complaint I have is that because it's dark, he seems to have a rough time navigating with it, but we'll see how he does after awhile.

Fits my (rather large) cat perfectly. The bright colours seem to be a welcome replacement to the clear E-collar (which by the way, stands for Elizabethan, like the big puffy collars they wore back in Elizabethan England... thought that was interesting) the vet provided. The kitty also seems much more comfortable, and is able to eat much more easily due to the easy feed opening.It's also rather nice that it's machine washable, and has lasted through multiple loads already with no issue.

I really like the quality of the cone, but the measurement was off because my dog's neck circumference was within the range listed for this cone but it did not fit properly.I also didn't understand why the cone has eyelets on it and a clear plastic bone shape on it which both served no function that I could understand.Back it went.

Love this cone ! My dog suffers from yeast overgrowth and will chew herself raw at night when we can’t supervise. I can now put on her cream, her cone & know everyone can get a good nights sleep. Washed well too !
