AquasureHarmony Series Water Softener plus Iron Removal w/Aquatrol Digital Control Head and Premium Grade Fine Mesh Resin (48,000 Grains)

My husband and I were able to install this water softener ourselves by following the directions from the manual provided and following along some videos on youtube. We have no plumbing experience at all so don't feel afraid to do it yourself if you already have a soft water loop pre-plumbed. We have the 1 inch soft water loop so we purchased 2 sharkbite 24 inch line connectors with 1 inch to 1 inch heads from amazon also. If you have the 3/4 inch sized loop, you can purchase the sharkbite 3/4 inch to 1 inch fitting lines instead. Honestly, we weren't even sure what size loop we had. We just eyeballed it. You could always buy both and return the one that doesn't fit. We went to home depot to get the rest of the stuff, copper pipe cutter, plumbers tape, sanding paper etc...Took us around 2 hours. Most of which was just making sure everything was done correctly so there wouldn't be any leak. If we had to do it again, we could probably do it in less than 1 hour. Unit was not as heavy as we initially thought. We were able to move it with just the 2 of us. It came in 2 boxes. Just so you know, there is no welding involved, the sharkbites will automatically lock into the pipe. That was my biggest worry regarding installing ourselves. One guy has a really good video on youtube from beginning to end. I really recommend watching that prior to attempting the install.I spent a lot of time researching water softeners before choosing this one and I'm so glad I did. You can definitely tell a huge difference in the water quality with this softener. Your skin and hair will feel really soft and amazing after the first use. I'm so glad we decided to go this route instead of spending thousands of dollars with a soft water company that uses scare tactics to get your money. Don't get ripped off.Hopefully this review will help someone that wants to save some money.

I spent considerable effort comparing various water softeners and service options before discovering this unit. All were more expensive, and not necessarily as well made. I called Aquasure three times before purchasing this to decide the right size (AS-HS48D) and the right media (Fine Mesh option). I needed to confirm it would handle 5 grains hardness plus 21 mg/L (1 grain) iron, and decide pre-flush time and, reserve gallons, how many gallons to allow between each recharge. Their representative was very helpful on each call. Ordered the unit, it arrived about three business days later shipped by Amazon Prime (Fedex) in great condition, solid packaging and protection of the tank, all parts and manual included, just as advertised. Had my plumber install it and set the programming to my choices., although most would not need this help. The unit is solid, working perfectly. Compared to a couple local options available, I ended up with a better unit and also saved $500 compared to a similar model (more than $1200 compared to a "full service" water softener specialist provided model with much lower capacity). Programming the unit is easy, it is very well made, and it came with all hoses, tubes, and valves. 2 months in, I am very satisfied.

Trying to install this using hard piping and Teflon is NOT the way to go. After several tries, it still leaked, so I used corrugated 1” supplies from HD that have rubber washers to ensure leak proof install and quick change out if needed. The settings are a bit involved but I haven’t had to mess too much with the standards to keep clean softened water. All connections are sufficient and quick apart from already mentioned. Uses less salt than I used to and does a nice job. Consider using additive from store once in a while to clean the resin and make it last longer. I got 20 years off last resin but this fine mesh might clog up a little quicker.

Prior to installing this system our water tasted terrible with 250 PPM of Hardness and 5 PPM of Iron. After installing this with a Aqausure triple pre-filter our water tastes great with no Iron and only 25 PPM of Hardness. We had a few minor problems that their support resolved very quickly, and we love this system.

UPDATED after troubleshooting with AquasureWe are using this unit in combination with a three-stage whole house filter. We had all of it professionally installed by a plumber about a month and a half ago. We were initially very happy with the water quality. However, we immediately had problems with tank leakage on this unit during regeneration. Aquasure helped me troubleshoot the issue. It was the result of a "quick-connect" fitting that didn't seat right. Both the plumber and I felt the connection was pushed-in with sufficient pressure - but it was not. Getting sufficient pressure to the hose while it was in the brine well - without damaging the joint or float - was a challenge. I do understand that this may be the result of a part that had uniquely bad tolerances. Water quality seems to have returned to the initial good state.
