Customizable
Great product and I found it to be highly and conveniently customizable and expandable! I’ve never written a review but find them helpful. On this system, you wire the camera to your tag (on the bottom) but you might need extra OEM-size tag bolts - probably should come with the product but I had extra from the front tag). The screen mounts easily on the dash or really wherever you want it. Theoretically, you could even put the monitor on your visor! Just a little finagling as this is a WIRELESS system! On mine, I made a custom switch that activates the camera instead of being wired to the back-up lights (this was actually easier than accessing the back-up light!! See photo - just a USB cable and a power source). Now, I can be driving FORWARDS and see behind me! How cool is that? The integrated systems don’t even do that that I’ve seen. All said, I could see myself buying more of these for trailers, motor cycle (with a custom camera mod), cargo vans, and the list goes on! I was so excited about this inexpensive system and it’s versitility that I felt compelled to write my FIRST EVER REVIEW! I’ve bought hundreds of cool gadgets on Amazon but even my wife is jelous of mine and she has a newer SUV with one BUILT IN!! I don’t even feel like buying a new car this is so awesome!

Works well, but there are installation issues that could be easily and cheaply fixed by the manufacturer.
Pros:The camera and display function flawlessly as a unit. The installation instructions were fairly clear and readily followed. The display responds rapidly to the presence of the signal from the camera and shuts off immediately and completely once the signal is absent. The image is bright and is readily visible even in sunlight and the night time performance is excellent.Angling the camera to set the colored distance markers was straightforward, even if there were no instructions provided.Cons:Unlike other cameras I've installed there were no connectors provided to simplify the wiring of the camera unit to the reversing lights. The camera mount covered the tax stickers on the license plate and the ends had to be clipped to fit as the stickers need to be fully visible. The attachment of the mount to the dashboard failed the first sunny day after installation. The adhesive on the flexible pad directly under the almost hollow "foot" detached and it could not be replaced effectively as there was only a small surface available for adhesion.

This was a better approach than replacing my radio/cd player; cheaper and easier.
So far so good. Had to power camera on my 2004 Matrix using license plate light power due to rear door containing power to plate lights. *** Opened the rear door, popped off the cover to license plate light with a flat head screwdriver, pushed out the license plate light assembly; made a notch for camera wire on the bottom left of the opening with a triangular file. Poked the the transmitter and wiring through the hole, mounted the camera on top of the license plate and replaced the license plate assembly. Inside the door I stripped positive and negative leads, wrapped the camera leads 10 times to license plate leads and secured with electrical tape.Replaced the cover. Up front I placed the receiver power plug into the cigarette lighter receptacle found in the bottom of the middle front seat console and ran the wiring from the console down the back floor board to the left door and shoved it under floor moulding to front left dash. Mounted the video to the left front dash with hot glue since the contact glue on the support wouldn't hold. Then I shoved the leads from the camera under the left dash plastic, plugged the receiver and power in from the console and works perfect. Secured loose wiring with friction tape.***I just received a free backup systems from Emmako for making a 5 star review and I used that system as a security system for my home which works really great with my Cox Homelife system! I use it to look under beds, down sewers, etc. Wonderful!Emmako Wireless Backup Camera 4.3 Monitor Kit for Car/SUV/RV/Van Rear View System Mirrored/Normal View Switchable ON/Off Guide Lines Width and Length Adjustable IP68 Waterproof Night VisionElectronics › Car & Vehicle Electronics › Car Electronics › Car Safety & Security › Vehicle Backup Cameras

Works well and comes w extras
Got this primarily rear view camera out of the many choices out there because of the wireless connection to avoid the hassle of having to run the wires through the whole car... I received the item quickly and was very happy to see that the wireless connection worked flawlessly. The kit came w wireless transmitter and receiver, and to my surprise w extra cables for a wired connection as well. Very satisfied with this purchase.

Perfect for my folding luggage carrier
I bought this because I was putting a folding luggage rack on the back of my 2008 Tahoe and it would be blocking the stock reverse camera and my license plate. I used my trailer light plug to power the license plate light and the Emmako reverse camera. On the inside, the instructions suggest you splice into your reverse wire inside. I did not want to splice into any wiring inside the truck. So I just wired the receiver to an old car voltage adapter I had and plugged the receiver and the monitor into a double 12 volt adapter plug inside the center console storage area. By doing this they are always on, at least in the Tahoe the 12 volt plugs are always hot even when the car is off, but you do not see any image on the screen nor a glow of any kind. When you go in reverse, up pops the image from the camera. Perfect! I plan on getting a double 12 volt adapter that I can turn off the inside reciever and monitor when not in use. They do not pull much power. I have not had any battery issues from current draw.

Unhelpful product
Very bad product not worth one dollar, I made a lot of mistakes when I chose it, the little interface did not work, which made me take a lot of time checking and tracking. I had to cut the wire so that I canceled the connection and connected the wires directly and that is why I did not return it to the seller. The screen can not be fixed on the front because the material is bad. Beware of getting involved in such a bad product
