The E-Myth Attorney: Why Most Legal Practices Don't Work and What to Do About It

There are few self-help books targeted to the solo and small firm lawyer. E Myth Attorney is the answer to the need. I read "E-myth" about 6 years ago, it changed my practice. As a solo attorney, I remember thinking how great it would be if there was an E-myth book devoted just to lawyers. My prayer was answered. The book itself is set up to meet the needs of the busy lawyer. It's an engrossing read and each concise chapter deals with a separate topic. From the people you employ to the way you set fees - Its all covered.Here is the important thing; it's co-authored by Robert Armstrong and Sandy Fisch. In my opinion these two law practice pioneers are the leading practice management and marketing thinkers in the nation. I read the original E-Myth when it first came out and put forth a plan that I used for years. It worked. Now, the E-Myth for lawyers is an extension of that original work. I strongly recommend it. With new vigor, I have amended my original plan and reinstituted parts of it that were forgotten over the years. The only suggestion I would make to a revision of the book is to include a section on legal ethics. Law is a little more than just a business.

If you feel overwork, unfulfilled or unhappy with your practice, I'd highly recommend that you buy this book. It will help you come up with a set of systems that will allow your law practice to run like a well-oiled machine. If you follow the advice in this book, you will be far better off than 99.9% of the attorneys out there who are just working in their business on a day to day basis, instead of doing the long-term strategic planning that it takes to make a law practice a true success.

Almost everything they cover I have seen in an MBA program (with a focus on entrepreneurship). But it is good to have it packaged in an easy to follow source that organizes the ideas well. A+

If you have not read the E-myth revisited buy that book, (which is by far the best of the E-myth books) first before you buy this book. This book is shorter and applies the E-myth the the practice of law. It does not get into the technical nitty gritty it gives you the big picture. If you are smart enough to practice law you are smart enough to read the general business book The E-myth and extrapolate it to the business of a law firm. This is a good book. If you are a lawyer who has read the E-myth and you liked it, you will enjoy E-myth attorney but this book is not as good and if you are only going to read one of the books go with E-myth Revisited.

This is a must read book for all Attorneys! What Michael Gerber has done here is to literally take the technology of McDonalds and make it accessible and functional for Attorneys!

Tips here are great and practical and actually make a lot of sense. They sound simple, but really their implantation is what makes or breaks a successful enterprise.

A must read for any attorney wishing to move to the next level and realize his or her dream of owning a meaningful practice.

Sin lugar a duda te aporta una visión distinta a la que uno inicialmente se puede plantear. Muy amena la lectura. El problema podría ser que se le demasiado rápido al no ser muy extenso. Muy recomendable al igual que otros libros del mismo autor.
