Great Book! Actually use this for real engineering work.
So I actually have been in several of the author's classes, and he is a great teacher. So it is not surprising his book is as well. This book has helped me tremendously to gain a better understanding of the topics he covered, as well as a better understanding in my career as an electrical engineer. He covers real topics, with actual usable experience and not just theoretical exercises. I honestly only have one complaint, and it isn't really a complaint, more of a request for the author. Expand more upon the lighting systems design, and add a chapter regarding lightning protection systems. Great book Dr. Fehr! Thank you!

Great Resource
I had to buy this book for class and it was a great source of information on a multitude of power system topics (per-unit, symmetrical components, power & instrument transformers, etc). Topics are explained in an easy to understand manner which is useful to individuals who are just starting out and to those who would like to brush up on or "fill in the blanks" on power topics learned in college.Only issue I found was some of the end of chapter questions referenced images or equations that were not in the spot they said they would be in (i.e. question would say to look at the image on page 56 but the image would actually be on page 55). This was likely overlooked when moving from the first edition to the second and isn't a HUGE deal.

The information contained in the book is alright, but ...
The information contained in the book is alright, but there are a few problems. Firstly, the book doesn't always prepare you for its own end-of-chapter questions. I found myself unable to complete several of these because the book hadn't provided the fundamentals needed. Secondly, there are numerous errors throughout almost every chapter, including mis-referenced figures as well as general grammar & spelling problems. Lastly, I wish there had been more worked examples. Sometimes there would only be one or two examples for an entire chapter, which is fairly sparse given the number of different concepts taught per chapter.
