I thought he would really like this for when I'm not home to tell him ...
I bought this for my husband who is blind and constantly has to ask us what time it is. Since I work alot, I thought he would really like this for when I'm not home to tell him the time. I tried it out in my bedroom for a week or so before I gave it to him abd it worked great. But it doesn't seem to work as well in our living room. It nearly never understands commands and activates when no one said"hello moshi"... I think I should have bought the Amazon Echo Dot for the same price and had way better functionality and a lot more options on it... however like I said, it worked great in my room, so I think the room size/echo factor may have something to do with the poor response.

Night Light
I've had great luck with my Moshi for twelve years. There is one little quirk I don't care for that I wish it did. And I haven't read about it in any of the reviews. On the back you can switch between a solid blue night light or alternating colors throughout the night.. Moshi lets choose the alarm sound and the sleep sound. But It wont let you lock in one of the dimmer alternating colors. The blue is kind of bright. (but you can always just say "night light" to shut it off)I'd like to add a tip; A lot of reviews complain about having to wake up their spouse by talking to the alarm in the morning. As an alternative to saying "hello moshi", reach over and press the top of the screen, tilting it back slightly. I call it tapping her on the forehead. The first tap sets the snooze for 9 minutes. Tap it again at any time within those 9 minutes to shut off the alarm until the next morning.Another tip; If you don't want it to sound, like on Saturday morning, then as you go to bed Friday night say "turn off alarm" and will skip the next morning and will resume the morning after that, unless you again tell it "turn off alarm". Do this as you go to bed on any night you want it to be quiet in the morning.Plus you can tap her on the forehead and say "help". She will tell you everything she wants to hear and wont share any of it with Alexa.

A disappointment
First off, I don't think they sent me a new clock. It was wrapped in Seran wrap rather than shrink wrapped. The display is hard to read - really only at one angle. No back-lighting unless you use the nightlight setting and then the backlighting alterntes colors. If you set it to read when you're standing in the room then you can't read it if you're lying down in bed. Use the voice activation and you wake up who ever else is sleeping if you try to find out the time at night! The LED just isn't a good quality even when you're reading it head on. Didn't accomplish what we hoped for when we ordered it. Also, about a third of the time the voice activation didn't recognize the voice command.

Very convenient.
It is nice to be able to stay in bed in the morning and just ask for the time. However, this item has some voice recognition probelems when setting some of it's features. As you can set manually, this problem can be dealt with.

Neat product, BUT...
This Moshi alarm clock is such a cool concept. The design is very nice, the display is good and big, and the voice feature is a great selling point. Now for the bad news. I am on my third replacement! They just keep breaking! Some of my replacements were even DOA straight out of the box! The problem seems to be that something goes bad in these clocks that causes them to not be able to "hear" so well. It might work well for a few months at first, but then it stops being able to hear me correctly (if at all). Here is how a common night goes for me:me: "Hello Moshi"moshi: *no response*me: "HELLO MOSHI!"moshi: *no response*me: "HELLO MOSHI!"moshi: "Command Please"me: "Set Alarm"moshi: "What time would you like your alarm to sound"me: "6:00AM"moshi: "Your alarm is set for 7:04PM. Your alarm is on."Then I get to start all over.My current Moshi worked fine for about a year (a record for me!). Now that its acting up again, I tried to contact the moshi customer service. I have gotten no email replies from them this time around. I tried calling the number listed on their website (moshilifestyle.com) but I never get an answer, and they didnt even bother to setup an answering machine message (its just the default generic message). They haven't returned my call.So the moral here is that, although Moshi does have some neat features (which is the only reason I gave it 2 stars), you should probably think twice about purchasing this product.

a little too sensitive
I purchased this as a gift and it is not used anymore. It was too sensitive and would talk all the time when my son and his wife were just talking. They got frustrated with it and finally put it away.

I LOVED the idea of it as for my work I have to frequently reset my timer. SO I thought "what a perfect solution." THEN I got it. =( 1 in TEN times did it get my voice activated time correctly. Several of us spoke {{{CLEARLY AND DISTINCTLY}}} and NOPE most times it got the time wrong. So I sent it back. FAIL
