The Baby Bargain

Leads to steamy romance I think
The story is merely started in this part. Tantalising glimpses of hot scenes to follow are provided. You have to read the whole set to judge the story

Baby Bargain
This was a great story and I can’t wait to finish it. They both have hang ups and like each other but don’t know how to talk to each other without fighting. It’s going to very interesting as the series goes on.

The start of another brilliant series
When you have waited for ages for a new book from a favourite author there is an anxiety; will it be worth the wait? will it be as good as you hoped? are they still a favourite? The answer is Yes, yes, oh, yes!The Baby Bargain is the first of four stories about Harker ('Don't call me Gus') and Alison - whose mouth has no brake - and they form part of the La Petite Mort Club canon (and so some familiar faces pop up for existing fans). As is the case with Ellis O Day we have wonderful characters and humorous situations and terrific sexual tension - and later some hot, hot easing of that tension.Harker isn't getting any younger and he wants to leave his vast wealth to his progeny, but since he has none he wants Alison, but he thinks he only wants her to be the mother of his child. Alison has purposefully ignored that Harker is an attractive man because he's her boss, and she wants to get on by merit alone. The development of this relationship is agony, joy, and hilarity wrapped up in brilliant compelling writing. I cannot wait for the rest of these stories!

When you want a baby but not a wife....get yourself a good contract and a memorable wedding night
The Baby Bargain is the first book in The Billionaire's Baby series and is the story of Alison and Harker. This story also weaves in La Petite Mort Club into the story and previous characters cross over. But you can read this book, and I am thinking the series, as a stand-alone so you don't need to have read the other books/series about this club.Harker owns a computer software company with Merri and Tobias. He is rich, entitled, a jerk if you want my opinion, and a Dom who likes to play at La Petite Mort Club. Alison works for Harker as a computer programmer writing code and working on his latest program. She is his most valued employee if truth be told and he knows it, but he does not let her know it. Harker is used to people doing whatever he says and agreeing with him, after all that is what his money and status buy. But Alison is not like that at all and she does not take his grumpiness too seriously, after all he is always screaming for her about something.Harker has everything he wants but lately he feels there is something missing, a child of his own. So after thinking about it and realizing there are no suitable women to marry he decides he wants Alison to be the mother. She is smart, pretty, can carry a conversation, is spunky and has good genes. When he finally tells her what he wants she laughs at him, as she cannot believe he is serious. When Harker makes Alison realize that he is serious she has some thinking to do, as he is offering a lot of money. Alison is still not having it but Harker is like a dog with a bone he is not about to give up and uses some underhanded tactics which include her bodacious aunt. So Alison has some terms of her own as she cannot bring shame to her mother or family. If Harker wants her to have his baby then they will need to be married, which she thinks will he will never agree to. Some things are just meant to be and that includes Alison and Harker....so get the white dress and veil ready because the is about to be a wedding. Wait until the wedding night though.............now that is a story all on it's own.I quickly read this book once I loaded it up, as it is easy reading. I am of two minds about this story at the moment. I really enjoyed the laughs, frustrations, witty banter, Alison's spirit and some of the sexy fun at the club. But I have to say that Harker was wearing on my last nerve a couple of times, and I wanted to kick some a$$ because of it. I will have to read the next book to decide whether he is able to redeem himself at this point or not. Be warned that this series is 4 books and each ends in a cliffhanger leading to the next.

meh
It was ok. It was Kind of cringey. A Slow burn, the sex club scene wasn’t terrible but I wanted more. It felt too short and the abrupt ending was annoying.

Readers left hanging
I was enjoying reading this book when it finished abruptly. Nicely written and the two main characters both seem strong and the interaction between them was good.
