The Fear

Spoiler Warning *
The Fear The main character Izzy is partnered with a boy in her class named Axel. Axel is known as the weird kid, and he doesn’t really fit in. At the same time, there is a stupid meme that starts going around school, and suddenly everyone is reposting what they think is the worst way of dying. Izzy refuses to repost the meme because she thinks it is very morbid that death is a trend. Her intutition is current when one of her fellow classmates ends up dead. She finds out the terrifying truth that they were killed in the way that they said scared them the most. This is all because they reposted the meme. Now, others who reposted the meme are killed as well. Now, knowing this terrifying truth, Izzy is determined to find out who is behind all of these killings. The main characters are Izzy, her sister Lia, Lia’s friend Tristan, Axel her classmate, Mary her friend, and her best friend Sydney. The biggest struggle for the main character is trying to figure out whom she could trust. Also, she struggled with keeping her family out of danger as she investigates the murders. The struggle is finally solved when she narrows down who the killer is and how to stop him or her. Izzy’s emotions change throughout the story. In the beginning of the story, she is very upset and confused about the death of her classmate. Then, she gets very frustrated when she doesn’t know who to trust, and she feels targeted by the killer. Izzy definitely felt like a real person, and she was a very likeable main character. There was a lot of description which made the other characters seem very believable. There was also enough description that I felt as if I was actually in either the school, Izzy’s house, or even at the party in the beginning of the story. The story was very interesting, and it had me on the edge of my seat. It was a very fast climax so I finished the book in like six days. The ending had a big twist so, it was definitely not a letdown. I enjoyed how the author wrote the book. The author is actually my favorite author so I’m used to her writing style. I would recommend this book for ages twelve and over. I would recommend it to anyone who likes a good page turner and a wicked thriller.

The Fear- Review
I was on the edge of my seat the entire time and did not expect that ending whatsoever!! i don’t normally read books like this so i was a little iffy about it but it was a great quick read that had my adrenaline pumping. I can't wait to get into more of Natasha's books

Loved 😍
I loved all the twisting details and how the chapter were only 2 character pov so it was easy to keep up with who your following. The only thing I didn't like was how it ended. Does Axel kill Izzy or does she take him out and make it back to her parents? Other than that absolutely loved the book.

The ending gets you again
I have read of all Natasha Preston's book and while I feel they have gotten darker and grittier, the earlier books were better in my opinion.Natasha is known for her books to not have happy and resolved endings, but to also end them on huge cliffhangers. This can work well but I honestly dont think it has worked for her since The Lost. The Twin, The Lake and now The Fear all have endings that dont come across as a good cliffhanger, but more or less feels like the author just gave up writing. The book was so so good but the ending is once again like hitting a wall. This time the killer wasn't much of a surprise either. I love those unexpected twists but this one was so obvious. She had me a little at the very very end since I was back and forth on if a character was in on it or not but decided to finally confirm it in that dead-ending. Maybe if it would have surprised me I would have felt different about it but it was pretty obvious who was conducting this all.I dont know, I plan to keep reading more of her books but I hope the endings come a little better in the future.

Suspence!
I disliked that it takes a while for the action to begin. I liked that the story line was well thought out and exhilarating.

It was interesting but fell flat towards the end
I was enjoying the book even if it was obvious who the killer was. There were not enough grey, dubious well written characters to make the guessing difficult. Unfortunately the ending was poorly written and abrupt. There was a badly executed and non sensical twist put there just for some kind of shock value. It felt like the author deleted by mistake a chapter and finished the book with a random sentence. I would give the book 3 stars, but feel bad to do so as everything except the end was entrateining enough
