Very good quality and bright light
I bought this so that I would have a very bright work light that I can take with me when I do any kind of job, such as having to go up into an attic and work on something in an area that does not have good lighting. This light seems to be built tough and I would expect that it should last a long time.I have only used it a few times so I cannot speak to how long it will run in the three different lighting modes that it has. What I can speak to is that it is VERY bright and put out a very good quality light. It is a pure white light that is nicely defused, so it is not harsh to look at or work under. You can set it to have both panel on at 30%, both panels on at 100%, or one panel on at 100% (which would be 50%).The panels can be moved into various positions and they 'click' and lock as you move them so they stay in place. The unit is fairly large and somewhat surprisingly so, given that it is using LEDs, as they are so small. However, given how well it performs this is not a big deal (just seems like it could have been thinner.) It is also a big cumbersome to carry when opened and on (i.e. trying to hold this by the handle with one panel opened and one straight down to see where you're going in an attic could be somewhat challenging compared to other work lights) but it probably wasn't designed with this type of use in mind. It does work great once you put it somewhere as it will easy light up large spaces with plenty of light. All things considered, I would definitely recommend this for anyone who needs a lot of light from a cordless unit. I do have other smaller LED work lights, but this one blows them all away (it is much brighter even on its lowest setting.) I would certainly look to this company for other LED lights that they might have, as they seem to make a good quality product.

A Thready Problem
The review of this light has two parts. The light gets five stars. It is very adequate and does its job admirably. It feels and acts like a piece of professional equipment. Its heft is part of its problem. The threads for the tripod are on the back part of the hinge which means the system hangs and leans forward rather than over what should be its center of gravity. That makes it prone to falling over. The second part of the review is the tripod and its threading. Camera tripods have a 1/4-20 thread. That means the diameter is 1/4 inch and the threads are pitched 20 to the inch. Those are perfect for cameras and other lightweight equipment. The Litebook has a more substantial thread. Unfortunately the bolt size is 16mm x 2.0 metric (course) thread. That is ABOUT 5/8-11, which is a professional laser level tripod bolt. The about is the problem. It is not compatible with any known tripod but the one designed especially for this light. It is a problem because when they are sold out of tripods, we, fire departments and other emergency departments have no place to go. It is a problem because an adapter to allow it to be used with a heavy duty camera tripod will not work. That leaves an average of 3.0. Proprietory threads work when you can keep up with the demand and make them standard rather than the exception.Being compatible with a laser tripod would mean availability, even though they are very expensive and have pointy little feet. Not the most thoughtful design.

Great but some small improvements would make it awesome
This is a really neat light and is super bright. The idea of a hand-held unit that can flood a large outdoor area with a massive amount of light is very appealing, and it seems well made. I do see a couple of areas that could be improved and that would take it up a notch:- The unit should not be able to be turned on when closed. Closing it should cut power. I'd be a little worried tossing this in a trunk or other space where it might move around since it could easily turn on which leads to the next point.- The power switch is not recessed, so again it could get bumped and turn the light on. Since the light has no cutoff when closed, this is not ideal. I'd love a more solid, and recessed switch. If you could reach it with your thumb when holding the light it would be even better.- I wish it had a small onboard storage compartment for the charger. The light seems big enough but I haven't seen the inside. I have too many cheap little black power supplies like this kicking around. I'll bet most people do, so onboard storage would be great.- A others have said, an adapter that can make the light fit on a camera or survey tripod would be nice. It could be sold separately, but would be most welcome. This issues aside, I really like this light a lot and would definitely buy it again. I think it will be extremely useful for work around the house, when out in the woods, etc.

Pretty Amazing Performance!
Pretty Amazing Performance!I was not prepared for how GI-NORMOUS size, relatively speaking. Mine has three settings: amazingly even and bright, bright enough to light up an entire large room with cathedral ceiling, one panel on, then off.IT FELL from its resting perch over my work area in the garage, which took a corner off of it. The plastic housing gets brittle in the cold, but it is still pretty tough. CORNER BUMPERS would however be a welcome addition. Super-glued the corner back into place, and all is well, including the thin silicone gasket between the clamshell and inner surface that apparently protects it from moisture. The tripod mount is in a weird spot balance wise. MUCH MO BETTA would be a large clip-on mount of some sort that in turn mounted to a tripod or other stabilizing arrangement.AMAZING light with a handful of little quirks.Did I WANT to spend this much on it. NO.Was it WORTH IT? Yes.
