This is a great secondary cutting tool for SCUBA diving.
These cutting tools were a great idea. I dive with a backplate\wing type BCD. I wear this on the waist strap of my BCD on the left side as far back as I can slide it. It is in easy reach I need to grab it to cut myself out of entanglements. It design is such that it would be impossible for the diver to cut themselves and hard to cut anything that does not need cutting. I purchased this with the idea that it would be my secondary cutting tool and is placed so that with either free hand I could reach it if I were entangled and could not reach my primary cutting tool (A large 1980's vintage Rambo dive knife). I have not had to use the Trilobite for dinentanglement yet but from testing it works well and I really don't even realize it is there most of the time.

the appear to be very well constructed and sturdy. Have had no issues with rust or corrosion
Watch the EEZYCUT video on their website about it's performance -- these knives can cut through even thick/robust rope. In terms of their quality: the appear to be very well constructed and sturdy. Have had no issues with rust or corrosion. They do come with spare blades as well. As a cutting tool this works well if the thing that needs to be cut can slide between the blade and the guard. This leads to the biggest downside of this cutting tool: it can only really be used for things that can fit in-between the blade and the guard. It would be nice if one side didn't have a guard so that it could be used to cut anything you need to. As it is, it can only serve as a backup cutting tool and a knife still has to be carried in case what needs to be cut doesn't fit in the trilobite knife.

A proper investment against entanglement
As a salvage diver I have roughly 80-100 dives with this product. It has gotten me out of some sticky situations. I have dove in plenty of different conditions from crystal clear to canals at midnight and I would not recommission diving without a knife like this. It is starting to rust a little bit I don’t take the best care of it. I do a practice cut before every dive and the day it doesn’t make the cut I will use the second one I bought and come back here for another.

Great for clothing removal
Great for cutting clothing, webbing, or small cordage. I needed a safe way to remove clothing and other items from people, it needed to have easily replaceable blades, and the ability to be decontaminated with sanitizer and this way the best thing that fit the bill. It came with a small, discreet holster that fit my 1.75" work belt, and hasn't fallen apart yet. Given the option, I would buy this again. My only issue is the price of replacement blades which are around $7 for 2 of them, but it comes with 2 spare blades, and they're double edge.

Great tool.
Excellent cutting tool. I have used eezycut on several occasions. It always amazes me that it can cut large diameter line as easily as fishing line.I now have 2 on each of my rigs.

weak attachment and rusting blade
This is the second backup line cutter I carry but first of this brand/design. After the first few days of diving it (and rinsing after each dive) only this design started showing rust on the blade. The other design I carry did not (it's a single blade style from dive rite). My biggest concern other than the blade rusting is that the material the harness is made of. It's a weird lightweight foam that's very similar to car headliner upholstery foam material. The "velcro" pieces don't grab onto it well at all so it feels flimsy and very easy to get pulled off your BC if you're not paying attention to it. You could very easily go to grab this one day and it not be there. It's a very weak connection design. Make sure this isn't your only cutter.
