Wonderful book!!!!!!

A very good read, my wife loves it.

One of my favourite books - great for dipping into.

Monty Don shares all his likes and dislikes with style and clever allusions. It isn't a sit down and read novel, but a fireside chat with a remarkable man, whose tender heart is revealed again and again. This isn't a first book to buy written by Monty Don, but should be your third, fourth or fifth. It is more like a glimpse of his notebooks as he shares his insights into the birds, bees, plants and animals from his life experiences. For a man who has written a million words about gardens over the years, it is amazing that he has more to say with such candor. He boldly acknowledges his dark side of depression, but shows how his garden and writing lifts him from those moody blues. Although he rarely mentions his beloved wife, Sarah, when he does the words sparkle with love, respect and insight into her personality. Their collaboration on the garden has made it and him famous, something that Sarah should be justifiably proud! Thanks for a good read, Monty!
