Well the authors don't seem like they'd be prepared for a test of any kind...
Awful! Full of mistakes, and I don't mean the occasional error, I mean at least one on nearly every page which makes for difficult reading. Some of the questions are useless because of this and in some cases the answer is even given instead of the question! Don't waste your money. I'll be paying for a different resource to use and as a student on a low budget that's something I'd have avoided if this book was any use at all.

Lots of it has different answers to the question (both online and in the book)Grammatical errorsFor UKCAT practice this is not the best option, for a test as hard as the UKCAT one cannot be answering questions that may or may not have correct matching answers to questionsI also had to pay £0.02 as voucher didn't cover the cost of the on line questions available. Bought for my son to prepare for exam and not worth buying.

Particularly good for explaining the Abstract Reasoning segment of UKCAT
I found this extremely helpful. I ordered this, along with the '1000 UKCAT Practice Questions' book (Picard, Tighlit and Tighlit, and Phllips), and I would say that this book by Wren is tenfold more helpful for the Quantitative Reasoning and Abstract Reasoning parts of the exam. From researching online, Abstract Reasoning is the portion that tends to trip people up - including myself - and so I was very happy I had this book to calm my panic. However, I would say that the book I mentioned by Picard et al are better for the other three segments (though that isn't to suggest that Wren's book is bad at explaining these areas). In short, if you suspect you may find UKCAT harder to grasp than others, go with this one. It explains the harder tasks in a much more helpful way.
