Compared to past similar products, this requires a lot of force to use. Not a problem for elderly adults, but too difficult for small children delaying their ability to smash cans. Advantage for this product is hole in upper plate which allows one to compress water bottles. However, for me, must replace the cap after compression or the bottle reverts to near original size defeating the purpose. In our area (NJ) water bottle caps are not recyclable at this time. 1 star deduction for amount of strength required for operation.

This was worth the money , it’s actually heavy duty for the price.

Love the option to crush plastic bottles too

Everything about this can crusher is awesome except for the bottom plate that the cans sit on. It's a massive design flaw and WILL fail eventually. I've had mine for a little over a year, which is decent but you would expect "years" out of something so simple. The flaw in this design is that the bottom plate that the cans sit on is held flat by a thin piece of metal that (one on each side), you guessed it, they bent. Now my cans slide off the base before I get a chance to crush them. All of this could have been avoided by spending a few extra cents on slightly thicker aluminum or adding an extra piece.I'll know better next time. It's not a horrible crusher and I did put quite a few cans through it, but I would have loved to have seen a couple more years.

The media could not be loaded.  Quality is great and it crushes cans pretty great. Only reason I’m giving it a 4/5 star rating is because I didn’t get the bag it supposedly came with.

Have used it for 2 weeks now. Works very well and crushes cans easily.Seems to be made very sturdy!

Bought as birthday present for my son as bit of joke as he needs to take the recycle out but wasn't crushing the cans. Now with this can crusher he takes delight in crushing the cans.After a quick mount of the can crusher on a board attached to some heavy shelves it was all up and running. The wife got to it first and proceed to crush several dozen cans!Note, this is only for aluminium cans. We had a few steel cans and they will not crumple even if you put a bit of dent in the side. Putting a little dent in the side of the aluminium cans make it really easy to crush it.
