Fantastic For Hanging Quilts
My wife is a quilter and bought a magnetic quilt hanging "system" where the magnets just weren't powerful enough to keep large quilts from falling off. I replaced the original magnets with these and the problem was solved. In fact, if I had been smart I would have bought these in the first place and saved a lot of money. I could have either screwed them directly to the wall or placed them on small pieces steel bar stock fastened to the wall with the 3-M Command tape - which is what the expensive, original quilts hanging system uses.

They are STRONGER than others, I tried.
Those magnets are strong, although not as strong as I needed for my application. So, after shopping around I found multiple other magnets of the same size with a higher rating (80-100lbs) and tested them all. THIS ONE, rated 34lbs is by far stronger than the other ones. It is extremely difficult to get two apart when they snap together, also you can really hurt yourself if you are not careful.

Holds Planes
These magnets are very strong. I got them to hold my planes where they would be handy while working at my workbench. I screwed them to the edge of the shelf in the storage area behind the workbench. They will not hold my No. 7 plane, it just slides down (and then off). One thing I was not expecting, one of the magnets is strong enough to hold my No. 5 1/2 bench plane, but the other three are not. Then I waxed the sole of my 5 1/2 plane and it wouldn't hold again until I had planed enough to get most of the wax off.It holds my No. 5s, No. 4s, No. 3, and block planes quite well. I only have four of these magnets, so I can only have 4 planes out at a time, but that's usually plenty. It is too strong for small things like wood chisels, squares, screw drivers, etc. It holds okay of course, but it's a pain to wrestle them off.

Impressive strength!
I bought some other magnets for use repairing guitar top cracks. These have "killer" strength. The only problem with these is that in order to use them on top and bottom, you have to turn the bottom one upside down. That's ok because I will be putting wooden handles on the top mag but not on the bottom. You do have to watch because they cannot be too close to each other on the crack or they will attract and slap into each other. I bought two other ones from another company and they are not as strong plus they have a cover over the back and thus the bottom one cannot be turned upside down. I will get one more set of these, and maybe some smaller ones if available.

Top notch holding power
These magnets are great and powerful. I used them to hold down a spot light on top of my truck. Perfect diameter to run a bolt through. Then attach a nut. Be forewarned, like others have said. Don't get your fingers in-between them. I did and it gave me a blood blister from the pinch.

They are extremely strong and are perfect for demonstrating magnetic attraction or repulsion
This is the second set of these magnets I've ordered. They are extremely strong and are perfect for demonstrating magnetic attraction or repulsion. As they have North and South poles on opposite faces what I have done is put all four magnets on a brass pole (non-magnetic) with capped ends. There are two sets of two attached magnets. Each set has a North to South pole attraction which makes the two magnets virtually inseparable. Each set of two is then put on the brass rod with like poles from each set facing each other. Now try to push the two sets together. I assure you only the strongest of the strong will be able to do so. Have fun...

Powerful! Tot Lok replacement
Used one to replace a magnet for a child safety door. After my husband added decorative trim on the door the TOT LOK key no longer worked! Although the side needed for the lock puts the indented area on the part away from the lock (so mounting a handle is a little more involved), the new magnet works even better than the tot lock did! My husband created a plastic handle (3D printer) then epoxied it to the magnetic!Magnets are VERY powerful! My husband broke one by getting it too close to one of the others in the package as they snapped together. But we only needed a couple so it worked out fine for us.

Super strong
These are serious strong magnets! I used them to mount a small solar panel to the roof of my steel carport. It holds it down in 40+mph winds. These should NOT be given to a child; they will hurt you if you are not careful; they have a very strong pull force. There is a reason they place a piece of plastic in between each magnet, if you let these go together, you will have some work on your hands to separate them, I know from experience.
